fruitbat69 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Mobile contract is up with T mobile in 2 weeks. Had sony ericcson's walkman last few phones as love my music. Fancy a change and getting smart phone. Looked at Blackberry's but been told they are slow for tinternet.Iphone's seem to be on expensive tariff's.HTC's seem good but don't know much about them. Looking for 18 mnth contract, about ?25 per month, free phone,u/l text, internet and about 300 mins.Want it for internet and listening to music/radio on commute. Anyone recommendations for which smartphone to get would be appreciated. Quote
HomerJay Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 (edited) if you just want it to work, get an iphone android phones are very good, if a little geeky. windows phone 7 will be the future. so i guess i depends on why you want a smartphone. Edited October 21, 2010 by HomerJay Quote

Guest Frandsen08 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 never had a problem with my iphone and its brilliant, u can get really good deals on the previous models (3G, 3GS) with orange at the moment im on unlimited everything ?25 a month but i've been with orange a few years so they sorted me out, give em a bell, and tell them that other providers have given u better deals, they'll try and match it and better it. EyesRight Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 while thats about as good a deal as you'll get on one, its still ?820 are they really worth that? Not got one myself but toying with the idea. For 500 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet you are probably looking at ?20-25 a month anyway so not too much more. Plus it will have some sell on value at the end of the contract I expect. The only thing that really worries me is having no insurance, never lost a phone before but it would just be sods law to lose this. Quote
Athywhite_Mike Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 while thats about as good a deal as you'll get on one, its still ?820 are they really worth that? ermm i think so. I have no computer/laptop or internet at home and when not at work use my smart phone to browse the net, put bets on, check e-mail, text, make calls, manage online banking etc etc Quote

cbwfcd Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Just got a window phone 7, impressed so far, but it needs a few tweaks. If i was to get anything else it would be an iPhone, but I'd probably get a 3GS as they are cheaper and not made out of glass. That said android phones are decent too. But saying you love music you might want to look at a windows phone 7 and a Zune subscription, I think you can stream / download an unlimited amount of music on your pc and phone (not to keep forever) and you get 10 songs a month to download permanently for about ?9 a month. http://www.zune.net/en-GB/products/zunepass/default.htm Quote

Bigtoe Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 If you already have a decent tarriff, maybe on a sim only deal then get an orange sanfrancisco handset, its the zte blade rebadged you can pick one up as an orange customer for around 80 quid over the phone/instore i reckon its the "best value" android set on the market and you can get it unlocked for a couple of quid Quote

You cant really compare the 2, the HTC wouldnt have been one of the older first edition HTCs using android 1 point something. Quote
