Went to his house with my missus and Viv , his daughter, he was the most humble person you could imagine . Showed me all round his house , his trophies etc BUT you never felt you were with a "star" he was just a down to earth bloke.

Rest in peace Nat , your town will always remember you . As I write a tear is going downy face

RIP Nat, a true bolton legend and a gentleman, thanks for the memories

Modern football is full of greedy disloyal mercenaries. Nat like a true fan from cradle to grave he remained a one club man.

In a world where Knighthoods are thrown around like confetti for London business & industry leaders In my heart he will always be Sir Nat RIP.

RIP Nat you will be sadly missed

An absolute gentleman and sportsman, the like of which is unlikely to be seen again. R.I.P. Nat.

RIP Sir Nat Lofthouse

Tear in my eye & lump in my throat. A true gentlemen and legend for Bolton and England.

Can someone start a petition to get a statue erected in town centre or at the Reebok?

A gutted Farnworth White

I don't think there is one of us who doesn't get choked up thinking about the great man today. Gutted RIP

What a top man was Nathaniel Lofthouse, a great loss to his family and to all the BWFC family, cannot believe that strong powerful man is no longer, a very sad day, but also a time to look back on a fantastic life, he has left a legacy that still runs through the club and the town. RIP Bolton Wanderers legend.
