what is your total number of grounds visited in this country?

as many others, watching bolton ive seen us rise from the depths to where we are now so have been fortunate enough to take division loads of ground en route.

while i was pondering,i had a quick glance through the paper and...

my paltry total at the current league standing is 56 league grounds....

i included old and new stadiums in my total as i my opinion,if youve been to huddersfield, youve been to fucking huddersfield!

90+ but I've never done Newcastle. In that count I have only counted teams like Bristol Rovers, who I've seen play on 3 grounds (and any team thats had a new ground) once because I count the club rather than the ground.

Fook me, here's a topic & a half.

I'll count up & come back tomorrow.

Just clubs I've seen the Whites play away at, old or new grounds counting as one, I assume ....

Ive done 49 league teams grounds counting the team rather than current stadium. Not had much chance do some of the lower teams due to my age. Im relying on good draws in cups to get new grounds off my list.

And I've counted the ones that have droped out of the league like Newport, York..... etc

no idea. throw in about 95 % of the teams weve played since about 93, and few more from 91 and 92, then you'll find the answer if your that interested.

96 BWFC away competitive matches, clubs only (not different stadiums). I don?t usually bother with friendlies, though I can see the attraction of pre-season trips abroad. I know you don?t want the detail, but I?ve gone & checked it up now .......

83 current Prem/League clubs -a-

12 ex League clubs -b-

1 non-League club -c-

-a- As far as I know, the Whites haven?t play competitively at MK Dons, Dagenham & Redbridge, Wycombe, Cheltenham, Stevenage, Morecambe, Burton Albion & Barnet; and the last game at Accrington Stanley was 1926 ? a year or two before my time.

-b- Including Scarborough (now defunct) and Wimbledon (now AFC Wimbledon).

-c- Bath City ......... plus, if they count, you can add Rossendale Utd (at Bury), Emley (at Huddersfield), & Gretna (at Burnden).

The only different clubs I can remember missing were Gateshead in 1953 (my first away match was a cup tie at, strangely enough, Birmingham City in 1955) and Witton Albion (flu).

Plus 9 UEFA away ties & the Anglo-Italian at Pisa.

Maybe I can make the 100 before I pop my clogs.

On the other hand, if I translated all that (including travel/hotels/food) into a current value in ??s, I?d probably top myself.

How do you count the FA Cup game against Emley? It was at Huddersfield but does it count as watching Emley v Bolton away?

The poweres-that-be also scuppered an extra when they decided to play the gme against Gretna at Bolton.

I remember going to Eastville & Twerton Park, Undies. Have we ever played them at the Memorial Ground ?

Otherwise what was the 3rd ground ?

That's what I said, Micky.

Tickets would have been very scarce for those three on their own grounds.

Didn't they play at Ashton Gate for a season in the early 80's after a fire at Eastville?

Correct about the fire, Traf .....

"In 1980, the South Stand at the ground was destroyed by fire and six years later, faced with mounting debts and an increase in the rental for Eastville, Rovers moved to Bath to share Twerton Park with Bath City.

A move back to their home city was achieved in August 1996, as the club entered into another ground sharing agreement, with Bristol Rugby Club, at the Memorial Ground." BRFC official website

..... no mention of Ashton Gate though.

we battered them that day

had about 73 corners

i think nigel martyn may have played his first league game

I was there as well that day, never seen so many corners in a game. To be honest, I thought the game had ended 0:0. I must be getting old, I can't remember stuff as well these days
