GazNT has already put a ITK post about Pratley, he already signed months ago. Fear not :good:

As long as it wasn't a fax that he signed .........

Newcastle also bidding for N'Zogbia

Let's hope they get his name right this time then.

Pratley appears to have rubbished any link with us today on sky ,will decide on his future after a holiday

No, he doesn't, he's just denied signing any pre-contract agreement. Which I think we'd already established he couldn't have done anyway.

Indeed. Until the "its always been my dream to play for Bolton" I have little interest in this shit.

do we think he is good enough, if he cant win a regular place in swansea,s team how will he win one in ours?

By staying fit! Odds are if your fit you get a place.

After seeing the style of football that Swansea play, I doubt there's many of our midfield that would get in their team tbf.

Pratley was a key man in Swansea's midfield for the first half of the season and scored a fair few goals too, but then when the contract negotiations stalled he found himself out of the team. The team were also winning with him out of the team so why would they then change it?

Besides, Mark Davies couldn't get into Wolves' team when they were in the Championship yet he's good enough for us isn't he?

Maybe. Just not fit enough.

I remember a "young" lad who was floundering in West Brom's reserve team when they were in the Championship and we signed him. I think he was called Bob Taylor? He worked out pretty decent for us.

Wash your mouth out - he scored a fantastic goal for us at that Theatre of Commerce thingy place down the road..

Bob Taylor Bolton Record

Bolton: 1997-1998 Played 12 Scored 3 goals (Premiership) (on loan)

Free transfer on 8/1/1998

Bolton: 1998-1999 Played 38 Scored 15 goals (Division 1)

1999-2000 Played 27 Scored 3 goals (Division 1)

Not too bad on his full season with us in the championship (was div 1). Poor last season before going back to the baggies just before the play off final

He was an awful panic signing due to lack of transfer window activity... There's a difference.

At the end of the day, you cannot tell how a player is going to play in your team until he's in your team. There's more than just talent that goes into fitting into a team, and that's what a lot of people miss. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Pratley might just fit into our squad and team really well, whereas at Swansea he might be surplus to requirements. When you're a club with as little finances as Bolton you have to take these risks in the hope you unearth a gem.

mcginlay was going nowhere at millwall

mcginlay was going nowhere at millwall

Precisely! Good point, well made.

I'm bored about the Pratley business already. I can't be the only one.

Either he wants to come to BW or not.

Move on - nothing happening here.

mcginlay was going nowhere at millwall

There are always exceptions

How else, other than previous and current form, are we to judge players for fuck's sake??

Otherwise let's go and sign the Stockport team that got relegated from the league, they'll be cheap....."but you never know until they're in our team".....

Absolute bollocks

mcginlay was going nowhere at millwall

Hate to tarnish the great name of Super John didn't he shine for us in the lower leagues? Not such a hit in the big time? So not sure what weight that point carries with regards as a reason to have a punt on this lad?

Spot on

And going back 20 yrs for an example anyway points to it being unusual at best
