If Bendtner signed for us he would be best striker we have by a country mile and if he started every match would get 10 goals minimum in PL. Too many people beleive he is shit because hes not a fancy

  • fcuk me, for one one who spends so much of their life on this 'ere website...you really don't know fcuk all about the club that some of us of us hold so dear, do you???

the LES version of events that I read:

"Talks are at an advanced stage with the Gunners thought to be ready to meet the 25-year-old's ?17m release clause, although a player-plus-cash offer is also thought to have been discussed."

would presume them talks are with Gartside, not Cahill

we may well have also rejected a ?12m bid at some point

it may all be b*ll*cks

Cahill for Wiltshire + a few mill

Fair enough

Wilshere's too small to make it as a pro.

According to some on here 18mths ago, anyway! :D

If I was Arsenal, I'd certainly chance my arm and offer much less. As would we for any player we went for. All part of the game.

Unfortunately for them (if rumours are to be believed), they're not the only game in town so will have to pay nearer our valuation. Probably after about 3 other bids have been rejected.

Saying that, I think all the other interest in him (aside maybe from an initial interest from City) is a load of bollocks.

Arsenal should know better as they are trying it with Barca over Fabregas....Cheeky cnuts

If the rumoured ?12m bid is true, I fear that we have a problem. Everyone knows that Wenger's transfer policy has been a joke to say the least over the years; hence the whole "the Arsenal kids will step up and do the business this year" that we used to have to endure, not to mention the false economy signings of the likes of Squillaci for them last summer.

Given their transfer policy over the years, I wouldn't be suprised if they decide "right, ?12m won't buy Cahill so let's try and get Dann/Johnson from Birmingham, or Samba from Rovers" especially if the price is even lower than we're looking for Gary.

Not too worried as it stands, and I know this was common knowledge anyway, but there's plenty of other centre halves out there, and the bigger clubs might decide on a more affordable option. We really could do with another club making an official offer though.

Alan Ball was told the same thing at Burnden

fwiw it's worth and it's probably about as "reliable" as we can get up against the larndan evening standard et al

but Marc Iles on twitter said

"#bwfc EDIT - Cahill latest in the BN tomorrow. One interesting development and a fairly definitive statement."

then

"Cahill latest: City pull out of the running, but #bwfc say no official approach made by #afc or #thfc - full story in tomorrow's BN"

so in other words

it's going to drag on for a while yet, probably

Iles is a bullshitter.

My Watford supporting mate has nothing but good things to say about the lad. Can play anywhere on the pitch by all accounts.

Just tweeted from an Arsenal season-ticket holding mate:-

Much as I like Cahill, and impeccably as he seems to have behaved on this, I hope that's true ............. as long as it's a good deal for BWFC.
