If Bendtner signed for us he would be best striker we have by a country mile and if he started every match would get 10 goals minimum in PL. Too many people beleive he is shit because hes not a fancy

  • fcuk me, for one one who spends so much of their life on this 'ere website...you really don't know fcuk all about the club that some of us of us hold so dear, do you???

Cahill will be a Chelsea player before this window shuts

Then they're going to have to start shipping some players out then as they already have Terry, Alex, Luiz and Ivanovic.

Alex is off to Spain and ivanovic is a right back.

I'm sure I read last year that Ivanovic was pissed off at being shunted out to RB.

Are you ITK about Alex?

Although he has been playing RB, Ivanovic's preferred position is centre half.

I always thought ivanovic was a RB, every day is a school day.

When it was reported Terry had asked AVB to sign Cahill, the article said Alex was expected to sign for a Spanish club (can't remember which)

Looking forward to seeing our Gaz in the number 5 shirt v QPR.

Plus is contribution of half a dozen goals a season.

Will probably go for 5-6m at Christmas

We've made it clear we can't wait to get shut.

I suspect clubs will hang on until January and see just how desperate we are.

We need to offer him a new contract now and negotiate a new release clause, because he's going for the best part of fuck all the way it's heading.

Nail hit firmly on the head there.

I think that's the most accurate of predictions if we don't get a decent offer in the next week

:good:

The Cahill situation feels like watching the club burn money.

i'd rather keep him and lose him on a free.

losing him with no adequate replacement, could cost us a lot more than 17m.

but its not my money to take that gamble with.

How do you know that negotiations aren't taking place? The club are no fools, they'll be more than aware of all this and you suspect they're already in talks.

It's dragging out because of the headline price - and the fact that Coyle probably knows who he wants on loan / in exchange as opposed to taking the cast-offs and 'not quite ready' brigade the big boys want shot of. He'll go, not for ?17 million, but for a high-ish price and probably in the next fortnight.

Sometimes get the feeling that some folk on here don't think the club are aware of some basic facts. Of course they are - but by being more than aware of the club's financial situation, they also want the best price for the club.

Flogging him for ?10 million a couple of weeks back would have got a massive backlash on here. Holding out for the best offer isn't going down well either. But it's better than a panic sale. If it drags and there's no interest, wouldn't be surprised to see him sign a new deal instead, but in reality, he'll be gone in a couple of weeks.

The voice of sanity :good:

Rumour has it that Wenger only has around ?10m for a central defender.

He failed to get Jagielka at that price, won't even bother to bid for Cahill and will turn to Scott Dann next for between ?8m and ?10m.

Saw this morning Everton are looking for 18m

They're just having a warm-up moan in preparation for the new season.

is it better to have a "pre-season moan" in/around Bolton, or is there any benefit in having the "pre-season moan" in foreign climes?

I think a foreign jolly for a good moan is better. We can drown our sorrows much cheaper.

According to the gossip column on football365 we're offering Cahill a new deal. Not sure what paper they plucked it from though.

Heard that on ss news this morning too. If he only has a year left as reported, do you think he will sign a new contract or go on a free next summer??

I hope he signs and we flog him in January.

Sign a contract then least we get a fee for him then, I have this fear he will be sold on 31st Aug at 23.59 for 4 million,

The story came from Mr. Nixon.

It's totally logical to offer new deal, seeing as we're currently unable to sell him for what the club value him at.

if i was cahill i'd be looking for maximum money - and he's in a strong position to do so as he could just run his deal down

and, a reduction in the release fee

he's holing all the cards
