If Bendtner signed for us he would be best striker we have by a country mile and if he started every match would get 10 goals minimum in PL. Too many people beleive he is shit because hes not a fancy

  • fcuk me, for one one who spends so much of their life on this 'ere website...you really don't know fcuk all about the club that some of us of us hold so dear, do you???

The story came from Mr. Nixon.

It's totally logical to offer new deal, seeing as we're currently unable to sell him for what the club value him at.

aye, make him top earner and captain at the end of the season, when davies is gone.

Looking like arsenal may up their bid for jagielka which could mean everton turn to cahill . not the big club he would be hoping for but would he go.?

If Chill doesn't end up at Arsenal on a free transfer, I'd be surprised..

same here. think he would sooner get a massive signing on fee than a smaller one.

everton spend cash, not a chance!

Cahills agent will be doing his homework, finding out which club would want him on a free next season and which deal would make them both the most $$$$

you would hope so (from Cahills point of view) as that's his job

everton, even if they get ?15m or whatever, won't be spending anything like that on players

and he wouldn't got anyway - he'd more likely see out his last year and join one of the top clubs on a free than sign up for them

Can't understand Wenger. He needs a centre half who is good in the air and that isn't Jagielka's strength.

Coyle doing everything right here. Put up or shut up, offer him a new deal (probably with a similar get-out clause), focus on the season ahead.

Not sure. If Cahill publicly rejects any contract talks next week, his value will plummit before the end of the transfer window.

I'm trying to think why cahill would sign a new deal with us and Im struggling. Other than looking after his secuirty if he got injured I can't think of any other reason.

He seemed loyal enough to sign the new deal under Megson increasing his sell on clause but no doubt he got a large payrise and signing on fee.

I suspect his acceptance will boil down to the sell on clause being reduced slightly and what signing on fee we can offer to offset any potential signing on fee if he was a free agent next summer - of the three parties involved: him, potential other clubs and us we sit a sorry third and we may be hanging our hat on coyles charisma too much.

I'd like to think Cahill us a decent sort and sees that BWFC have helped him become part of the England squad etc and would sign a new contract knowing we wouldn't stand in the way if a top level club made a decent offer.

I don't hold out too much good though.

I have to disagree, if Wenger does not stump up cash for him then he aint going to get him IMO. This time next year Cahill will be available on a free, that means Chelsea, United, City, Liverpool and Spurs will also be after him (maybee even major foreign teams if reported interest was true). What player in their right mind would go to Arsenal over these teams.

If he doesnt go in the summer / january and he has another good season then I could see him at Chelsea, United or City in 12 months.

I think its funny how Wenger and the Arsenal fans think they are going to pinch him on a free, that clubs imploading.

I would like to think that as well, although deep down I suspect he's the same as every other footballer and is pretty much out for whatever he can get, if that means fucking us over so he can eanr an extra ?3M~?4M over his next contract then so be it............probably

IF clubs aren't willing to buy Cahill now, when he's got a massive for sale sign round his neck, then I'd imagine they're unlikely to if he signs an extension as presumably his value/buy out/whatever would go up further

if has CL aspirations, he'd be daft to sign a new deal as he would def get a move to a top 4/6 club if he was a free agent

I hope you're right but you can just hear it come April next year - "I've decided to let me contract wind down I've given 6 loyal years to Bolton who've been terrific in my career but I've got to do what's best for me and my family blah blah blah........

unless of course his current 30k a week deal becomes a 60k a week deal, plus a million pound signing on fee, with a 20m release clause.

True but where does that leave us for the stiker we desperately need - Nugents gone!!

As I've said prviously on here, Wenger is making the same mistake that he made over the last few years, he keeps loading up with midfield and forwards which hes not short off, what hes short of, his someone who can defend, which was the big issue last season, hes willing to chuck money at forwards and midfield but seems to want to sort out the trouble area with a pag of peanuts and a kit-kat, if he dosn't sort it out before the transfer window closes I cant see him being in the job come Jan, I dont think the Arse fans will to to happy if they dont get of to a flying start

Anyone know how long we signed him for when we got him from Villa? I thought he had already signed a new contract, thats when we put the release clause in.

Or have I just made the last bit up?

I'm not convinced Cahill can rely on a big club snapping him up for their first-team come next summer.

The big clubs aren't hanging around waiting for him - they're strengthening all the time. Who's to say he'll dislodge whatever top centre-backs those clubs have in 12 months time ?

He might well find himself bench-sitting for much of the time - on a bigger salary, of course.

The lad's got a lot of reckoning up to do. .............

Id make him captain now! SKD I feel should only be a bit part player this season, so giving him the captaincy and a pay rise might give him the drive to sign a new deal so we dont miss out in Jan or next summer
