If Bendtner signed for us he would be best striker we have by a country mile and if he started every match would get 10 goals minimum in PL. Too many people beleive he is shit because hes not a fancy

  • fcuk me, for one one who spends so much of their life on this 'ere website...you really don't know fcuk all about the club that some of us of us hold so dear, do you???

We have sense at last

plus one

I agree I would take Bendtner in a heartbeat, did coyle say he was not interested and did Bendter say he did not want to come, I cannot see this one happening.

I agree entirely

Only issue is that he appears to think he's the bollocks and I can't see him being happy at little Bolton

I've been wrong about stuff like that before though

Oh and he'd have to leave those pink boots in North London

I hope not, a clumsy player who reminds me of Kevin Davies with a bit more pace.Poor first touch, poor finisher.Whenever we play Arsenal I hope Bendtner is playing which says it all.

You reckon? I remember him scoring a particularly good goal against us at the Reebok.

.

Good player Bendtner. Complete arsehole though.

Would take Bendtner any day of the week. Only 23 as well so could be looking long term replacement for Davies. He's got the stature for it, target man and full of running

I think he'd be ideal here

So he'd be on the bench initially then?

More rotation. Nobody should have a guaranteed spot in the team and I can't see Davies playing 38 games again this season

No way on the face of Gods earth would he willingly come here.

ABSOULTELY no chance.

That doesn't make sense, no one is guaranteed a place anyway. But I can't see any player coming here to be rotated or more sitting on the bench waiting for SKD to break down, especially when they are already at Arsenal and commanding top wages. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If that's the intension then you need to look at teams outside the Champions League really, probably at the Championship, abroad or players who can't even make the match day squad.

yup agreed.

problem is, i do see a bit of the 'petrov' in him

They're three from three when he's played against us and he's scored the winner in two of them.

be away with you and your facts, there is no place for them here

Lets not be naive. If we sign a player like bendtner he will be starting every game as long as he is fit enough to walk.

I'm not denying it probably would be better to look elsewhere but if it did come off which I agree with the majority I doubt it will he would be part of the first team squad. I can't see him playing alongside Davies there to similar in my eyes

If he does the job fair enough he starts every week but if say we got him loan with the option to buy at the end of the season then it's win win. Were not forced to play him but if he did come and it was a choice between Davies and Bendtner then I'd plump for Bendtner

He'd fit in in my eyes but wouldn't be an ideal signing with the present squad in mind. Sturridge is the obvious one but that isn't looking likely so we keep our eyes open

It's an option anyway if anything

Should that really be the case though? Players should be fighting for there places, you bring him here with the promise of starting no matter what then your basically giving him licence to turn up when he wants

That goes for any player who comes

What you've said certainly seemed to be the case with Elmander.

Do you not take all these things into account first, profiling, physical and psychological? I can see us signing him TBH but he'd walk into our team at the expense of SKD. He categorically won't come to sit on our bench, he might get dropped for being shit like Petrov but unless he's first choice n.b. not guaranteed, then this or any other decent player would laugh at us.

What you've said certainly seemed to be the case with Elmander.

bollocks

top scorer shunted on to the wing

aye, he had it great

Here's an interesting stat

Niklas Bendtner - 22 goals in 98 games for Arsenal

Johan Elmander - 18 goals in 92 for us

And that was in an Arsenal side that create possibly 10 more chances a game more than us

He only started 40 of those 98 games.

And he was played out wide in a lot of them.

Sorry, I think you're missing the point I was trying to make.

Elmander, regardless of form, ALWAYS played for us. Even when he was going through really shitty spells, he was never dropped.

We brought in Sturridge and played him up front. Elmander was then put on the wing at the expense of Chungy. When we had ecntral midfield crisis, the solution was put Chungy back on the wing and Elmander in midfield.

This isn't a dig at Elmander at all. He always gave his all wherever he was selected to play, but for whatever reason he seemed to be 'undroppable'. this was the comparison I was meaning when referring to Wanderer's pont of "starting no matter what".

How many of Bendtners game were as sub or on the wing?

dammit fastest finger 1st.

Wonder how many goals he got from the bench of them 22 then, should be interesting. So take the 40 sub appearances off 20 goals in 58 games is still hardly mouth watering is it?

58 games is just over a season and a half

Nobody's mentioned the influence of Jack Whilshire. Maybe's he's put in a good word.

I'd take him.

Sorry, I think you're missing the point I was trying to make.

To be fair we were all but perming eleven players for the last couple of months of the season.

Robbie Blake notwithstanding, obviously.
