Nowt wrong with Wheater - much rather him come into the team than the likes of Andy O'Brien & Danny Shittu as was the case until last season. As for Zat Knight, I think he's been a better player since Coyle came in - & much, much improved on the player we saw under Megson when his confidence must have been rock bottom.

 

Should Cahill go, Cuellar from Villa doesn't fit Coyles plans - too old & picks up injuries. As said already, I Onuoha could be a perfect fit at the right price.

I'm happy to give Knight a run in the side i do think he is slowly getting better. I Did want to see Wheater at right back but after his shocker away at Blackburn last season that was the end of that idea but then again it couldn't get any worse than Steinsson's performance away at Blackpool

The problem with Knight is he can have a good game defensively then fuck it all up by giving the ball away because he cant pass for shit. He is a ticking time bomb and its only a matter of time before he costs us a game again imo. To have a player who cant even pass a ball 5 yards along the floor to a team mate is a joke at this level imo.

It probably depends how much he listens to his agent and how greedy he is I suppose. If he signs a new deal, there will be a minimum release clause in it I would have thought, and probably set at a similar level to where it is now, this doens't guarantee that he would get a move next summer.

 

If he does nothing, he will definitely be getting a move to a bigger club either in the next 2 weeks, in January or in June/July time. If it is June/July, then it really is happy days for him, as he'll be signing a ?100K+ per week deal I would have thought. He probably wants to go this window though, as a move to Liverpool or Arsenal would probably guarantee him a place in the England squad for Euro 2012 (should we qualify)

Unlike one or two better thought of players whose mistakes can cost us a win but little gets said. Chungy at Everton is a good example of this.
