The Hawthorns is, as we all now know, the highest pro ground in England. I am sure I've been there one year and it snowed. May of been a Christmas fixture

 

Anyway, What is the coldest that you've been at a match? Two come to mind for me. Norwich at home in a League cup game at Burnden. That was probably the coldest I've ever been at a home game. And the other is Marseille, yes fookin' Marseille on the Med. That was so cold my jeans were frozen solid after I got out of a fountain at 2am.

I just remember it was a game at Barnsley, the coldest I have ever been at a game. I don't know when it was (but must have been around 20 years ago) and I don't remember the score. I do remember being frozen solid though

Looked over to the Kop and there was this big lass in an halter neck top. I couldn't believe it. All the toughie Bolton/Liverpool fans were shivering away and she was there, half naked and happy as Larry.

Int 80's, when I first started going to away games regular, I went to the majority under prepared. I remember Wolves on the train. It wasn't a cold day as such but I went with only a t-shirt, my ball crusher jeans and my rather impressive mullet . 16 hours out of the house and I returned home blue and the only thing warm was the back of my neck.

Marseille away in just a t-shirt (and later, one of those scally hats supplied by the tallest African mon I've ever seen) and any home game in the Sir Nat Lofthouse upper.

Went to Wolves around 78/79 in the FA Cup 3rd round, obviously in January, there had been heavy snowfall in the Midlands and it was fuckin cold, the pitch had a nice covering of snow and an orange ball was used, we told one lad there was underground heating at Molineux and he got down on his hands and knees trying to warm his hands on the terrace, that fella is a steward at the Reebok, we got warmed up after the game with a good hiding

Leeds v Walsall FA Cup Replay in the mid 90's. Well you may ask - WTF? I had two gormless Aussies in tow on the way to Milwaukee and only two days in Blighty. They wanted to see York, Chester and any football game. The only way was to go to York and take in this match on the way back to Bolton (Leeds won 5-2 aet from memory).

 

One of the Aussies was an old bloke and wanted a 'good seat'. They stuck us in the top tier of that massive stand and the wind was howling off the Pennines straight into our faces. Never been as cold in me life and we honestly thought we'd lost the old boy when he turned blue and fell asleep. Eventually woke the dopey fcuker and planted him in a cafe with some hot Bovril and went back and saw it through to the end. Fcuking freezing.

Agreed.I'd just flown back from Lanzarote where it was 23 Degrees,i seem to remember it was officially Minus 8 Degrees that night in Bolton.

Villa away int Coca Cola semi in 2004 - was feckin freezin, only time I can remember needing to wear gloves at the match....

I vaguely remember a league cup match v Wimbledon at t'Reebok, think we won 2-1, they were in Prem and we were in the next league down (was it division 1 then?). Freezing cold, no fucker there. Blackleywhite had a bovril at half time and no beer, and he wasn't driving.

Without a doubt Germany away in Berlin 3 years ago, Smiley thought I was dead at one point and he claims I was only revived due to John Terry's late equilizer which got the blood circulating again.
