birch-chorley Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Fair play to Leeds, decent tribute. Would like to see us do something. Quote
Zico Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Fair play to Leeds, decent tribute. Would like to see us do something. started chanting on 11 minutes, for 11 minutes, and right at the end they scored nice Quote
borntobe Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Last night Leeds chanted Gary Speed in the 11th minute for 11mins at the end they scored fair play. I think Bolton fans should chant in the 6th min for 6mins then every 6mins!!! Only one Gary Speed Quote
Danny G Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Even the Liverpool fans were chanting his name last night, this spread to the Chelsea lot, It goes to show how much fans of all clubs thought of him. I still cannot believe it Quote
Walkden26 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 in among st all the sad tributes etc one thing did make me smile/piss myself and that was this lads last minute home made tribute to Gary... I have to agree. It is a nice tribute but what a piss poor attempt. That is the laugh I have needed since Sunday Quote
DazBob Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Scum fans just been singing, "There's only one Gary Speed" at Old Trafford. Has there ever been a footballer who's died so unexpectedly and then there be such an amazing show of respect?? Still doesn't seem real. Quote

Fair play to the scum for that - never thouight i would ever say that but it shows how much respect the country has for him Quote
barry cowdrill Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 My son was mascot away at Sunderland on Boxing Day 2005 and Gary Speed was captain and was great with my son.Had a great day and got pictures on his bedroom wall walking out onto pitch together and pictures of all team before game in changing room.We will never forget that day or the memories. Thanks Speedo.R.I.P. bwfc2003 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Palace and Derby fans tonight were singing his name. Is their so much affection for him with other supporters or are some people jumping on the bandwagon??? Personally I cant think of any none BWFC related player whos name I would sing in memorium to an untimely death Quote
stevieb Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I think he's just one of them that is seen as a model professional. Giggs may have been in the same bracket two years ago. Only other person I can think of remotely close to the term these days is Michael Owen but he's dull as fuck... and a DMB Mate at work was telling me Speed's wife has asked Newcastle to delay their tribute this weekend to their next homegame so she can attend. Shes apparently at Elland Road this weekend. Do you reckon Goodison or the Reebok will be on her list? Quote

Walkden26 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Paul Scholes was similar to Speedo. A pro, good player and doesn't gob off left right and centre. I think he would get the same reaction. Quote
stevieb Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I agree to some extent with Scholes and Beckham but Beckhams had his run in with the Rebecca Loos story and that. Still... Speedo wasnt a munich! Quote
Danny G Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I still cannot believe it, did he leave a note? has any further information been released, I do not believe he was depressed and someone somewhere knows something, surely we will get a clearer picture of why he did this. Quote

Well I have heard a a few bits, none of which I would ever post on here as they are just rumours but like I say I do not believe he was depressed His death has really gutted me and I never even knew the guy, such a sad loss and when you see fans up and down the country singing his name, It makes me proud that Speedo was a Wanderer.
