Kenny Jacket keeps getting mentioned, for that reason I would stick with OC.

Would any other realistic manager have been able to do better with limited funds and the run of luck we have had, NO.

it not a case of any other manager do better with limited funds bad luck etc, thats a weak argument, a set of players who cannot show any fight, desire or pride in the shirt are not being motivated enough by the fella in charge, the players need a kick up the arse too OC is doing none of these things we are the most toothless team ive seen in a long while

Do people really think that eleven lads just pitch up on a Saturday afternoon for a game of footy?

In reality the opposition would have been scouted and their strength and weakness of the team - and its individual players would have been identified. Similarly over the previous weeks our own players weaknesses would have been worked on, practice and drills would be done time and time again to establish how they play as a unit and what to do / not do, at certain situations.

Dead ball drills, defending corners and free kicks, etc would have been undertaken so often that everyone would know what there tasks are and what is expected of them in those situations.

Team selection would also consider how the opposition would be most likely to set up and which players / situations are identified for exploitation. For the better opposition we would be looking to minimise the risk to us and ways to kill the game and stop them playing their natural game.

Parallel to all this ways to strengthen the team via transfer window signings or loan deals would be being explored - based on the constraint of transfer budgets and the clubs pay scheme.

All this is Coyle and his teams job - it simply not just about what substitutes and when to play them on match day.

The fact that we've lost a jaw dropping SIXTEEN of our last 19 league games and since last DECEMBER obtained just 26 points from 33 matches - or equivalent to just 30 points over a full season!

Putting the emotions to one side the facts are quite clear and stark - Coyle is failing badly as a manager and as been doing for a year now.

Do people honestly think he will suddenly get better overnight or something - because I don't.

Sadly he has massively failed as a manager at this level and the simple truth is that we need someone better to take us forward from now on.

My mate is a Millwall fan. They would hate to see Jackett leave. He's done wonders at Millwall, on a limited budget. On their forum they don't think he'd even consider leaving for a Premiership team, until he saw his contract out. That's the kind of person he apparently is. Jackett doesn't even have an agent, he lets the LMA sort out all his paper work before he sings any thing. Old school!I think he'd be a good shout. Old fashioned English manager, give the team a needed boot and some home truths.

They told him he'd have money to spend right? Well at least he'll know that's not the case with us!

Just not that he couldn't actually choose who he could spend it on

gartside is telling fans to get a life on twitter

Well, if that's true, he needn't tell me.

I'll be at the Reebok next Saturday (domestic problems permitting), but if nothing is changing then the season ticket will go into the back of the drawer until things do change. Gartside can enjoy the Reebok experience without me - I'll be somewhere else enjoying my life.

I want someone who is going to frighten the lives out of this shower of shit we pay millions to, Owen Coyle cannot rally, motivate, organise or frighten them into a decent performance, his time is very nearly up, barring 2 wins in the next 2 games , 2 managers fit the bill one is Mark hughes who was my first choice, my 2nd choice would be Steve Bruce, I am not interested in the likes of Lee Clark or Kenny Jacket or any other inexperienced manager who is having a flash in the pan success lower leagues, I want a manager who has respect and experience at the top level, been under pressure and scrutiny in the premiership, if we have to go down I want a manager who will take us down kicking and screaming, not meekly walking to the gallows whistling a happy tune.

A Gary megson type figure perhaps?

A Gary megson type figure perhaps?

Nope not at all, someone who can relate with the fans and has a personality and who has the respect of the players without having to be there best friends is we need Megson had zero of these attributes, in short he is and was a cunt.

i don't know what coyle was thinking with the team selection yesterday. why the change of heart from arsenal away in the league where we did well until the sending off with a reasonably solid 4-5-1. even with 11 men it looked like we were going to get slaughtered

it was never on this game, but we go into a massive run of games without a number of key players, low on confidence, and no idea what our best system and side is

Fuck the relationship with the fans, I want Bolton in the prem next season, whatever the cost

Megson also didn't have enough premiership experience

He was also let down by a naivety in a way, just a different one to Coyle

Neither man is versatile enough for me

Absolutely spot on you can also trace our shocking season back to Man United and Chelsea games where Coyle insisted on playing 4-4-2 and thus ensuring we conceded an avalanche of goals, in the process confidence was shattered to pieces and has not recovered, how many games is Coyle going to continue with a formation that clearly does not suit the players he has available, if you look at our goal difference the majority of it is down to those 2 games.

Thought that he kept West Brom up a couple of times.

Nope one full season when they went down

Do any statto types know if we have ever gained less points in a previous calendar year compared to to this?

Do any statto types know if we have ever gained less points in a previous calendar year compared to to this?

How many have we accumulated this year?

Thanks, Mounts. it's the lack of fight, the 'rabbits in the headlights' attitude, the hapless running around (or, worse, standing around) that gets me mad most of all ......... thought the lack of system, method, ideas, sensible starting line-up and meaningful substitutions come a frighteninly close second.

Owen Coyle cannot rally, motivate, organise or frighten them into a decent performance.

If you would of said that 12 months ago, you would of got laughed off this board.

It really is 'a funny old game!'

The players really aren't not trying

People keep saying that Hughes wouldn't come here. Why wouldn't he ? It beats being out of work, I'm sure. And it's certainly a challenge. Billy Davies is ok, but not in this league. Sven, Brolly-man, Jimmy Jewell or Ginge in charge, no thanks. The answer is,I think, OC plus a good number two. But quick.

If he can survive until January, and can get another young Jack, or Sturridge on loan, I think we will be ok. It's not as if we are getting cast adrift at the bottom.

I know it's not just the defeats, but the manner of the defeats, the apparent lack of motivation shown by the players, and the mystifying substitutions and tactics from the touchline, but I'm convinced that a good number two is the answer.

By 'number two' I mean assistant manager, not a good dump.

I'd be happy for coyle to fuck his burnley chums off and get decent replacements

Preferably somebody who actually knows more than him

Do any statto types know if we have ever gained less points in a previous calendar year compared to to this?

Not sure about in a calendar year, but to add to the doom and gloom I do know this stat...

The Premier League has had 45 different teams over it's history, only 4 other teams, at this point, have had as bad a record as ours (going into the Spurs game) 10 defeats from 13. These other 4 teams were all, unsurprisingly, relegated.
