No - Evra says something and sorts Suarez out - possibly with the help of others - without the intervention of the prying eyes of the establishment

An eight game ban will stop him or anyone else doing it again. Explain how your 'solution' would have had the same effect? Suarez would have just denied any wrongdoing and Evra wouldn't have been able to contradict him without saying why he sorted him out, so he would have been punished instead. You haven't really thought this through have you?

In what way do you think Evra should "sort Suarez out"?

I don't really care just don't get the authorities involved - a private spat should stay just that - private not public

It wasn't a private spat, it was on a football pitch in front of other people, who may've been offended too. Racists should be outed whether they shout it from the rooftops or make snidey comments.

Have you thought this through? Where will it all end? The precedent is now set - every altercation between players will now be subject to scrutiny with players forced to stand in front of a panel of bureaucrats justifying their private speech. Wanna live in a world where private speech is subject to state scrutiny? Not for me thanks

A football pitch is absolutely a private place and should be defended as such. Racists should be outed - I agree - but the outing is the job of you and me - we should not hand off our responsibility to any external body

Private speech is private within boundaries in a civilised society. You are advocating the right for someone to use the word 'ni**er' as a term of abuse to another person in a working environment. Many times. What bit of that is OK? Why should Evra put up with this? If you were being verbally bullied (racially or otherwise) in your workplace, would you advocate the right of freedom of speech of the other person? And if before you say you would 'sort it out privately' with said person, what if it was your line manager?

You know about the satellites that watch your every move, don't you?

I take it you're an anarchist?

8 fucking pages for that Dego Nonce bastard

My Arse!!!

Kick it Out etc has been massively successful, fact.

Love your oh-so-clever individualistic philosophy.. anyway back to work, get those Ayn Rand books out, you'll have course work to do...

Kick it out has done jack shit in tackling racism. Only the self appointed pioneers of the anti racist establishment would tell you different. The fact that racism in football is virtually non existent nowadays has everything to do with the integration of black people into everyday society and the success of black players.

You could also argue that the anti-racist campaigns made it easier for black players to succeed.

Still, glad you agree with everything else I said

So the authorities shouldn't be involved at all? Hasn't really worked in Spain has it? Their F.A. has turned a blind eye for years, with the result that when England played in Madrid you could barely hear the commentary because of all the monkey chants directed at our black players.

MD - don't you think there's a world of difference between cameras to help the ref make better decisions - and using video technology to police hate speech?

The laws on hate speech are a monumental affront to liberty and should be repealed - and attempts to blur the distinction between the public and private sphere is bad for all of us - look at the latest nonsense to come from Scotland to see the road we're heading down - if you really think hate speech laws, official campaigns like kick racism out of football, the CRE and the police are the way to fight racism we really don't have much common ground between us.

What I think and what I know to be the law of the land are poles apart and you don't know me well enough to make any assumption on what I think.

since when did the american right start following the wanderers?

The Liberals want togive NASA the right to abort space missions'!

not commented on this, but I feel Evra is out of order for what he has done

he has got a fellow professional banned from the game

The American Right are pro life! :D

NASA know I'm typing this too, there's a satellite right over my house. In fact there's one over everyone's house.

Im gona repeat the question that a few people have already asked you dingdangdo (which you have repeatedly ignored.)

Putting to one side all this nonsense about private and public spheres what would you have done with Suarez? Bearing in mind we know have concrete evidence that Suarez racially insulted Evra on numerous occasions. Do you have any idea what the consequences would be if he was left to get away with it?? Not forgetting that footballers are role models for thousands of kids in this country... Your argument doesnt make any sense mate, racism on and off the pitch must be punished, its as simple as that. Your begginning to sound like you emphasize with Suarez and what he said ;)

& how would you feel if you were permantly insulted at work by a fellow professional because of the colour of your skin??? I guess you would probably smack the prick but Evra cant do that can he because he could face a heftier ban. He had no choice but to report him and i cant for the life of me understand why anyone would begrudge him for it :nea:

Just as an aside. Is there a reason Suarez hasn't bothered to learn the language?

fuck knows. hes a prize winning cunt.

suarez was banned for what HE said, if he aint said it he aint banned.

If I crash when drink driving and someone reports me, is it my fault or theirs ?

fuck knows. hes a prize winning cunt.

Just wondering, because if someone were to call him a fucking ugly, cheating Spic, would they need to say it in Spanish or would he understand it in English? :D
