Wanderers 2 Macclesfield 0

Wanderers play lowely Macclefield for the 3rd time this season following the 2-2 scare away to Macc, will OC select a team strong enough to turn them over or will it be an embrassing evening?

We did fumble through a win last August in the League Cup finally running out 2-1 winners thanks to Tuncay and Petrov after Macc's Sinclair put the away side in the lead after only the 11 minute.

We should be strong enough depending on the line up of course.

For me its:

Wanderers 2 Macclesfield 1

Attendance 8,000

  • No, it's all-ticket and you need stubs from Besiktas, Belgrade and the Darlington Bonfire Night home game.

  • On the way to wembley for the semi, i dont remember hearing anyone say "we were shit against york city"

probably some 15 year old lad who got served a carling at half time, and couldt tek it.

HBWHT?

looked small

but fair play to her, was fastest lineperson I've ever seen - if they were all as quick as her then a number of the blokes might be able to get more offside decisions correct if they were always in line with the last man

Oh also, Diddles, how big was the lump in your trousers when a certain someone came on the pitch at half time ;)

it's not it, though

last night should've been about winning and learning and developing

1 out of 3 isn't good enough, for me

We aint ever gonna be doing any learning against league two opposition especially with the team we played so you can chalk that one off. Developing fair enough.

Saturday is what matters, the quest for points and it doesnt matter how we get them as long as we do.

We won so that's a tick

You don't treat a competitve game like a warm up session to learn - that would be the worst thing to do and tempt an upset get the result is the priority

Develop - Lots of fringe players played and 3 or 4 yonguns that's a tick also

i can't see what your major beef is - coyle is not the prodigal son but careful it doesn't just become criticism for the sake of it - some folk fell in to that trap over the ginger one

im more than happy with last night as a learning exercise.

one thing i did learn is that ricketts has totally lost his pace after his injury

I'm not saying you dont learn from games but you don't use an FA Cup tie to experiment either - maybe Casino meant the former

i meant the team - the team that did so well at everton - got time to develop

playing a system that suits

not going back to this shitty 4-4-2 just to accomdate folk who have been proven to be ineffective

as for the manager, ginger, green or scottish, i don't give a shite who it is

all i care about is staying up

if all i was after was finding fault, i'd ask why nrc wasn't rested as him and muamba are crucial

i'd point out that in our last 4 games we've had 4 different pairs of centrebacks - an area that needs serious attention

in fact, i'd point out all sorts, but if its gonna require mention of megson, i'll pass

thought in the first half we were made to look ordinary by a poor macclesfield side.

Second half, were were made to look like a league 2 team by a league 2 team.

Exactly.

What gets me is that folk had paid good money (even at reduced prices) to go out on a freezing night and half the team coudn't have cared less in the 2nd half.

Also all the players were MEANT to be fighting to keep their place, or to regain their place, in the Prem team for Saturday. You couldn't possibly have believed that, watching last nights feeble, negative & error-srewn 2nd half.

The result is never the only thing that matters ........ ask any top manager.

Gardner.. hansen.. easy to confuse the two

ex

exactly!! be it 14-0 or 2-0 a wins a win. when we win the cup in May nobody will moan that we don't deserve it because we were shit against Macclesfield in the third round!

On the way to wembley for the semi, i dont remember hearing anyone say "we were shit against york city"

So if we lose to Swansea because we can't get a consistant, confident 11 together, can we complain then?
