Wanderers 2 Macclesfield 0

Wanderers play lowely Macclefield for the 3rd time this season following the 2-2 scare away to Macc, will OC select a team strong enough to turn them over or will it be an embrassing evening?

We did fumble through a win last August in the League Cup finally running out 2-1 winners thanks to Tuncay and Petrov after Macc's Sinclair put the away side in the lead after only the 11 minute.

We should be strong enough depending on the line up of course.

For me its:

Wanderers 2 Macclesfield 1

Attendance 8,000

  • No, it's all-ticket and you need stubs from Besiktas, Belgrade and the Darlington Bonfire Night home game.

Poor again. lack of concentration all over the pitch. Turned attack into defence with alarming regularity. Two or three passes on the half-way line then back to Bogdan for him to boot it upfield time and time again.

Having said that it was a clean sheet, so the booing wasn't called for.

And it was freezing.

That female linesperson, how tiny was she! Some of the Reebok Rebels were bigger.

fit as a butchers dog she is, and if I was having it off with her she would have to wear her lino strip, couldn't take my eyes off her.

anyway, about the match.....first half good, second half poor beyond belief.

looking forward to seeing more of that lino in the championship.

Not great, but I never thought we were going to lose.

Plus points were Bogdan who looked safe again, Mark Davies who was comfortable on the ball, but mainly Tuncay. It's baffling as to why he hasn't been given a chance in the striker's role. Even when playing out of position, he looks a better and more committed player than either Klasnic or Ngog.

On a positive note, good to hear Strings of Life over the PA at half time. Even if it was the version with vocals! Made me want to double drop.

thers a 2011 edit out.....

Macc were unlucky in the 2nd half not to get back level, we were crap on the whole. Positives were Bogdan, Riley and the female lino ..

Our pattern of play doesn't even work properly against this level of opposition, it's always good to get a win but I didn't come away feeling any less worried about the rest of the season.

Bogdan and Riley are no worse than our regular first teamers and the young kid who came on as a sub looks lively but did not see enough to rate him. I am not sure whether I should be pleased or even more worried that these second stringers fit in so easily ..

First half was OK 2nd Half was unacceptable poor commitment shocking body language players seem arrogant beyond believe, there is usually a connection somewhere within a team between players and fans I don't see it with this horrible set of players, soon as we ship most of them out the better and I don't care if it means were in thge championship.

The club with the much bigger wage bill and much better players won, no surprises there and that's why Liverpool will beat Bolton at the weekend. To overcome a massive difference on the wage bill a club needs a great manager but neither Bolton nor Macclesfield have one of those.Bolton used to have a great manager who virtually guaranteed them a top half finish every season on a bottom half wage bill but didn't do enough to keep him.

different competition same shite

accepted where we are heading.

absolute dogshit

an opportunity to play with the defence he's going to pick on saturday

an opportunity to play 4-5-1

but fcuking no

just fcuk off,m you dick

tuncay on the right, ffs

we learned nowt

we confirmed we haven't got the pace, guile, movement, organisation to dick a pub team

ffs, they were better than us for most of the second half

and wheater now switched to left of the centre backs

it was cold

the only fun was the macc m?ngs

funniest pair the two who were offering 10 year olds out first half, then switched to the east side and got kicked out quick sharp

I think he did, with maybe the exception of Steinsson for Riley (very much the same standard for me). I know people have slated Boyata, but I stand by the fact that he is a centre back, not a full back, and would be a much better centre back partner for Wheater than Knight would.

Thats the defence I want to see on Saturday anyway.

we played very differently than we do in the league. very little long ball, plenty of passing across the back line and mavies dropping the collect.

maybe, just maybe we were using the game to try and get our mojo back, admittedly didnt really work but you cant blame us for trying.

macclesfield just hel firm and soaked up the pressure, fair play to them for that.

it was mistakes on their part that cost them.

we lacked creativity, but we were trying.

davies was lost in such a system.

its a shame the back line werent really tested until the last 10 mins.

but i guess thats a testament to the midfield who were protecting them.

one thing we lacked was tempo, there was no real urgency to our play.

did Boyata play CB?

yes

Can't believe the moaning! We played them off the park in the first half; Petrov's goal was superb. Second half we backed off and let them get back at us, but we never looked like losing, and the difference was mainly due to Robinson coming on and unsettling the defence, as usual. Also, their big players were barging our players in the back every time they challenged, and were allowed to get away with it by a weak referee.

It's been said before, but you can only beat whats in front of you, and we did that with ease.

Kevin Davies looked better than he has for a while.

Pleased again with Bogdan and Riley, however he was looking for the easy ball i.e backwards a bit too much last night.

The team lost its shape second half, which wasn?t helped by the introduction of Robbo. He?s shit everyone knows that, but no need for the boos when he came on.

I?m a shit fan so left on around 90min, but I believe people booed again at the end. Bellends! and fook me it was cold.

When Riley wasn't looking for the easy ball backwards he was giving it to them.

What was it that impressed you, exactly?

Strange comment is that he was absolutely shiiite, he looks much better to me sat on the bench with a tartan rug round his legs.

When Riley wasn't looking for the easy ball backwards he was giving it to them.

He looks to keep hold of the ball and keep possession for the team and not just twat it aimlessly up field.

At least when he does look to cross the ball it?s not just floated in like Robbo, Knight and Steinsson so often do.

The lad needs games which I am pleased he?s getting.

But he can't keep possession.

I agree, he needs games, but he needs to pass better when he gets them.

Anybody moaning needs to get a grip FFS. We did the job and thats it, next round here we come.

couple of observations from yesterday. thought in the first half we were made to look ordinary by a poor macclesfield side. and im sorry but anyone who disagrees is incorrect. bottom line is, if we'd have played like macclesfield, against anyother premiership team, at half tiime it would have been 4 or 5 nil down!

Second half, were were made to look like a league 2 team by a league 2 team.

but what pissed me off the most about yesterday, and you can call me what you like for this, i went for a slash at half time and some absolute bell of a person had booted and smashed a bog in the east stand lower teir (Block I) toilets. now im not being funny, i was disgraced. supporters of the club moan at no money, and go and demolish their own club. at the end of the day, its only probably going to cost 300 quid for parts and labour, maybe not even that, ill be honest its probably not a great deal to a premiership club, but it doesnt help! and yesterday i was ashamed that a fan could cause damage to their own club.

Wins a win, we move on. Well done to the boys.

Bring on the scousers.
