I hope Coyle is aware of these stats. As I and many others been saying for months Muamba needs to play 90 minutes of very game between now and the end of the season and if he does I am sure we will stay up.

I think the majority of us already knew the importance of Moo in the team, it doesn't need stats to confirm the blatantly obvious, having said that, Coyles not clicked full yet.

 

Can the Bedsheet Brigade please print these stats out on a nice new bright white one & wave it about before kick-off?

If he had kept things tight with Muamba on we might have got draws against Norwich and Newcastle, but can't see it changing the other results.

Stats are reliable in a well controlled trial, if we played 10 teams with Muamaba in for 90 mins and then played them again without Muamba and there was a statistically significant difference in the results, then you can reach a reliable conclusion.

Yes, that's my take on it. We might have got a 0-0 draw at home to Newcastle and we might have got a 0-0 draw at Norwich.The way the Newcastle match was going I was expecting to lose though before the substitution.We'd certainly have lost all the other matches.

On the other hand he was very poor at home to Wolves and I think a more attacking choice (Eagles) would have won us that game.Wolves were abysmal in the first half, it should have been game over at half time they were that poor but Muamba's lack of attacking skills hampered us.

So the 2 points we probably dropped at home to Wolves evens out the 0-0 draws we might have got against Newcastle and Norwich.

He's the only midfielder who can win the ball ffs. Reo Coker just qualifies when he is playing with Muamba because he doesn't have to worry about covering for the rest.

 

If Coyle hadn't signed 2 players who are as weak on the ball as Petrov and Eagles, he may have got away with subbing Muamaba occasionally when he is going for it at home..
