His memory and love for BWFC lives on thanks to the roadrunner videos my lad who was born after he passed away knows all about Dave Higson. What a man, what a Top Wanderer, and a ding dong top fella.

  • Signifies the true essence of Bolton for me, not unlike the great Nat. Proper down to earth genuine Boltoner. RIP

getting the trophy, shrewsbury was around 89

The last time I saw Dave was at St Mary's Southampton (when we thought we'd signed Rivaldo). He always used to say to me "Give him't Donkey" dating back to the mad days on the Manchester Road North Terrace when we used to rip into the opposition manager and bench.

I believe his 2 favourites were Steve McMahon steaming as his Swindon were stuffed with 7 goals and Peter Withe losing it and trying to get into the crowd when he was managing Huddersfield.

Lovely man, never had a bad word for anyone in the blue and white.

i can vouch for it being a top day

Brilliant

Would anyone like a rub-off. Pity he never quite made it to watch us in europe - could you imagine his commentary when Vaz Te notched in Guimares.

RIP Dave

I imagine it would have gone a little like this.

"Diiooufff Dioouff what a ding dong doo El Hadji El Hadji oh wait it was Vaz Te"

His commentary was brilliant.

What year was it he lost all that weight?

He seemed to disappear for a while and came back half the size !!

Ive just found the Torquay VHS and the end of year Christmas Goals, wish I knew how to convert to DVD.

They were my part of the settlement instead of the Chinese cigarette case

I can do this.

Cuanto este?

You just need a DVD recorder, they were all the rage about 10 years ago, connect a video player up to it (I've got both in the loft) and record.

Working on a house in Morris Green when Dave came walking past, got talking to him about Bolton for over an hour. Top gent and will always be remembered.

I used to stand with Dave on the Manny road, before roadrunner, and his bearhugs after a goal would knock the wind out you...................... RIP big guy

myself and MG have many a good night with him in the dancers :drinks:

Just watched the vid again of Dave with Bruce Rioch after the swindon cup win

Bruce just has his arm round him through the interview, Dave just has a beaming smile, like a kid with his hero. Brilliant

RIP Dave.

I was watching some of his vids on youtube the other day laughing my head off while my kids were stood there confused thinking I had lost the plot!

The Andy Walker clip after the Preston game says it all really.

I remember Joe Royle comparing the supporters in the Manny Road Paddock to inmates from a mental asylum, when we played Oldham in the F.A. Cup!

He'd be right too, did'nt half have some laughs there back in the day.

Joe Royle stood up and was shouted at to "SIT DOWN!" by the Manny Rd North. His reaction was to get all the bench to stand, which they did until the Police Inspector at the tunnel walked up onto the grass and told him to sit down.

Redknapp was less than complimentary too.
