His memory and love for BWFC lives on thanks to the roadrunner videos my lad who was born after he passed away knows all about Dave Higson. What a man, what a Top Wanderer, and a ding dong top fella.

  • Signifies the true essence of Bolton for me, not unlike the great Nat. Proper down to earth genuine Boltoner. RIP

Still got all of the Road Runner Videos on VHS somewhere, watch them occasionally to reminisce, never get tired of watching them and listening the commentary.

"What a goal,what a man,Super John, what a ding dong doo!"

A lovely man and Wanderers through and through. RIP Dave

True Legend

Would anyone like a rub-off. Pity he never quite made it to watch us in europe - could you imagine his commentary when Vaz Te notched in Guimares.

RIP Dave

Top Top man. When i first started going to away games with my dad he always made us feel welcome and then when my dad was no longer allowed to come due to mothers instructions he would always make sure i had rang me old fella to be picked up when we got to knutsford.

He was also involved in the scout movement in Morris Green and was well respected there as well (remember him when I was in the cubs)

RIP top wanderer

Still got my "Dave 'Ding-Dong-Do' Higson" T Shirt. Doubt it still fits but I've still got it.

Mine still fits - but only beacuse I was a fat bastard when I got it :D

Top man; RIP. 7 years! :o

Last chat I had with him was away at Yeovil...

One of my biggest disappointments was not quite being able to sell one to an Arsenal fan :D - he was interested, but his mates wanted to go for a pint!

Did he address you as Cock? As in "awreet Cock?" I doubt he'd have ever known my name, (why would he?) but always nodded and greeted me with "Alright Cock?"

RIP, a fine Boltonian and as deserving of a lasting tribute as Fred Dibnah.

Remember going to camp in Barmouth, and there was a night match Frank who was Daves dad drove a 52 seater coach back with 4 of us on.Miss him loads thoughts go out To Barbara.

barmouth...the one at the bottom of a big hill?

i bet it rained

Remember coming back on coach with him after the 6 nil defeat at Spurs in League Cup quarter final. He'd been roped into doing Tower FM commentry for it as the Tower FM bloke couldn't make it at the last minute.

He was very disappointed to tell the coach it was the first game he'd commentated on where he'd not got chance to say "What a Ding Dong Do!".

RIP Dave.

RIP Dave, never forgotten, he was a great guy and there are not enough of them left in the world.

my cousins on the end of one his videos giving him a trophy haha the pissed up loons

RIP Dave.

As mentioned above, every bit as much of a legend as Fred Dibnah.

Skinner and Baddiel used to regularly feature him on their Fantasy Football show.

One of his best lines was after we'd conceded an unlucky equaliser (Winstanley OG at home to LFCin FA Cup before White Hot 1?), "You scaley .. erm ... I mean you lucky lot!"

He loved Bolton with all his heart. He was our treasure.

i'm sure ive got that burned onto a dvd somewhere

I remember sitting a couple of rows behind Dave and some other guy with big white sideburns during the last season at Burnden. Ah, those were the days :(

RIP Dave

Glad he got the recognition with Fantasty Football

Fondest memory of him was when he caught me and MATT(off here) supping cans on kids and flids going away (forrest i think). He repremanded us and took our cans of us then went on the microphone to tell the whole coach that we had been supping and its not allowed. funny as fuck
