  • You can choose your friends but not your relatives.   I have discovered a failsafe plan to take the family nonsense out of your life. Move 10791 miles away.   It still happens but you know fuck al

  • I doubt very much I'll regret not having any brotherly/sisterly relationship. You can't get on with everyone so why is it you'd regret not getting along with someone just because they're of the family

You can't pick your family as they say, whoever they are.

You can choose your friends but not your relatives.

Mine's PNE, the nob.

Where do i start? My family Fallings out is like a years worth of corrie and Emmerdale put together!! Some proper wankers that I wouldn't even class as family any more.

I have not spoken to my older brother and sister for 29 years, I used to cross the street to avoid them, the last words I spoke to my sister were, "fuck off", I will never speak to them again as long as they/I live, as Bolty says, you can pick your friends......

The only living relative I have is my elder sister... I can never forgive her for the way she treated my dying mother.

It's hard being myself at times and I have tried to get myself to be able to accept her behaviour, though there's no way I'll ever forgive her, but I just can't.

I still care about her, and only recently found out she has cancer and have sent my best wishes to her, I just could never be in the same room as her.

All I can say is please don't regret not burying the hatchet. Once she's gone, that's it.

My Mum and Dad split when i was 3 months old which resulted in him moving back to Pompey. Never heard a word from him until a brief emotional conversation when i was about 14, then nothing until i went to his Funeral some 8 years after that, big regret of mine however he could have made the effort to contact me.

You should never have feuds or argument that result in not speaking to close ones as one day it will be too late.

Always tell someone how you feel too, i have a good relationship with my grandpa and he was kind of my dad for years, ive told him what he meant to me and how grateful i were, hes still with us but ive got peace of mind when he does go he knows ive told him.

As for fueds i dont really have alot to do with me mam but i speak to her

I had a fantastic relationship with my dad and miss him every day, no regrets there other than him dying at 55 and I adore my mother as she does me. No, this regret thing is bollocks if you truly don't have feelings for someone or they for you.

Concentrate on and cherish those who are important, blood is irrelevant.

I love my family and very proud of everyone of them, they have worked hard and achieved great targets, unlike me :)

My Grandad lived in Little Lever till he died when i was 17 and i never met him once, i dont even think he knew i was alive. My mother wanted nothing to do with him and thought he didnt deserve to know us, and to this day i still dont know why because she wont tell me.

Reading this, it's made me realise how lucky I am. Mum, Dad and 2 sisters who I love. Have a great extended family too, they all live local so I'm forever bumping into them. There are some right characters in it too. I've got a family do tonight, can't wait - it's always a good laugh.

Big difference between not speaking to someone because you dont like them and not speaking because of a family feud but deep down you love them
