But a save behind the line, therefore it's a goal, if it's a save, it's not a goal, it was a goal and wasn't saved, it was only because the linesman was poor that the goal was not given, Bogdan didn't keep it out, he just stopped it hitting the netting and got fortunate.

How can it be classed as a save when it was out of play and if the ball goes behing the goal line, it's a goal, he did his best and did excellently to get summat on it, but it was done behind the line. March 10, 201214 yr Must be me then, if a player scores an overhead kick out of play it's not classed as one of the goals of the season. Even if it somehow stood, you'd be a bit embarrassed to receive an award for it, yes you did great with the effort but you did it out of play. Bogdan didn't save the shot, the ball was over the line, it was only not a goal because of a wrong decision, he got something on the ball, but behind the line is not a save. it's a goal, just because human error didn't give it, it was still a goal, once the ball goes over the line, the keeper has been beaten, he saved the ball once it was inactive, luckily he wrongly 'saved' it because of the officials. So technically yes he did save it and I change my mind :blum: :blum:

March 11, 201214 yr Author It's obvious that he would not win any award due to the nature of the incident but it was a great piece of goalkeeping. Looks like we have a good one on our hands with Bogdan. He has the best parts of Jussi's game in his armoury and a few more besides. He could be our No 1 for years to come
March 11, 201214 yr I thought it should been a free kick on bogdan by zamora. He backed in and stopped bogdan getting to the ball, so when he did get to it, he was behind the line.

No, in the same way if a player took the ball round 5 players, did some ace skill, but shot well wide, then took a wonky deflection and went in for an own goal, it probably wouldn't be considered for goal of the season

March 11, 201214 yr Save of the season for me. Bollocks to whether it was over the line or not, what he did stopped a goal. He had no right to get anywhere near that ball, never mind get a strong enough hand to it divert it back out the opposite way! I gave him a bit of stick when he first came in, and I was adamant that Jussi should come back as soon as he was fit. However I am happy to eat humble pie and say I was wrong, Bogdan has been very good ever since and looks like he is now fully 1st choice.
