Accuweather minutecast reckons it's stopping (the rain) in Bolton in ten minutes and staying stopped for at least an hour..

Mad drive home that. Roads like rivers and some closed due to floods, folk getting rescued by fireman and what looked like a sinkhole having just opened up...the road had crumbled away like a mini earthquake....some passers by herding us around it
