Fairly certain no one is arsed, but we're still buzzing so I'm telling you all anyway.  We got incredibly lucky, thankfully! Weather was spot on and it properly set the tone for a perfect day, co

Heavy thunder stuff over Blackburn at the minute.

There’s some kind of festival with the local Rayguns taking place on the park adjacent with some dude whaling prayers over a rather large public address system.

They’re getting completely pissed wet through.

Eid, mate.

Utterly glorious day

Haha that’s ace

They call em dust devils in America.

Basically little whirl winds caused by hot air rising through cooler air.

You’d probably see a few more when it’s red hot but obviously they’re only visible when full of hay / dust.

Must admit, it was a lot hotter today watching Leigh at Dewsbury than last week in the South of France at Albi.

Lawns are browning up

Awkward one this. Read somewhere that lawns shouldn't be watered in drought conditions.

Personally, I'd flood the bugger but AFTER the sun's dropped. Scorch, it otherwise.

Don't cut it much either, only a slight trim.

I told me mam this, let the fucker grow and I will mow it in September once it looks green again.

Hotter than Brazil this week according to the wireless

England hotter than Brazil? They probably mean on the pitch at the World Cup! ;-)

My mum's the same- "can you do my lawn again as it's a mess".

Kinell, the odd area that's a bit longer than elsewhere but it's healthy and green.

To many bone the fucker religiously then wonder why it's gone yellow and gets full of moss over winter.

Ive got massive patches of Lilly leave type stuff on my grass at the bottom of my garden. Like the stuff you find on top of a pond.

How the fuck do I stop that growing?

Buy some grass carp.

Alternatively purchase a selective weed killer and spray your lawn with it. Make sure you follow instructions accurately.

Garden centre should sort you out, or try online (may have to buy a bigger container).

Good time to do it as plants are growing well.

Once dead give your lawn a good feed; again following instructions accurately.

have you still got a hound?

Had him put down in October mate :(

Nice one TM. There’s a tributary to river wyre that runs through behind the garden. That won’t help.

Is it also a shady part and/or damp where these weeds are?

If so consider spiking and applying some top dressing by brushing in.

Will help with drainage and gas exchange to the grasses' roots.

Aye completely in the shade all day bar about an hour in the morning. Direct west facing and big fuck off trees in the way. Plus a 12ft trampoline :)

Next time I'm at the match I'll try and snaffle one of those lighting gantries they use for the pitch. Usually parked up near tesco.

Sure no one will bother as it hangs out the back of the van on the m61.

Quite a few clubs have them supplied from the police when seized from cannabis farms.
