Fairly certain no one is arsed, but we're still buzzing so I'm telling you all anyway.  We got incredibly lucky, thankfully! Weather was spot on and it properly set the tone for a perfect day, co

I used to live round that way. Chorlton is the worst place in manc in my opinion. Asked badly drawn boy if he really was a Bolton/man city fan ha

He’s a mate of a mate (a Chorlton lad) and he’s definitely not a white

I lived near Zico for years in West Dids and I miss Burton Road. Great place to be in your 20’s/30’s

Worked down Chorlton in 77, a decent Canadian Charcoal Pit in operation. So up your arse these days, give me the rough and ready Brooks Bar.

Plenty of leaves being shed

I fooking hate summer

Aye. Moisture loving trees like willow and alder suffering badly now.

Big trees are not averse to dropping the odd limb in this sort of weather.

First clouds I've seen in a month  :D

Chance of rain today. A few dark clouds over Smithills/Rivington.

Except our velux window won’t shut!

Plastic has expanded in the heat. My mum's patio door is the same, and my neighbour had to take a little off another neighbours door to allow the locks to slide properly.

Fuckin EU standard doors! :)

Dark and gloomy this morning here, so I cut my grass : this is normally followed by biblical rain, but not today, the sun's back out.

We're due three cooler days before another weekend scorcher.

Oh dear. I suggest you water it, unless you've got a particularly damp soil.

Still damp underneath and I only cut it on the longest (80) setting.

More of a trim than a cut

Tip top.

My mother insisted last week. I told her I shouldn't; particularly the front as it's raised and free draining.

I did it at the highest level that would take anything off.

It's now 80-90% yellow/white.

She hasn't asked this week.

The UK’s like living in Spain these days. We’ll have summers like this every year from now on obvs.

Bet there will be some floods later this summer once it bounces down

Aye all this bodes for a stormy winter.

Fuckin EU :)

Preferred Chorlton on balance but did like going watching the footy on Burton Rd and used to love that Nepalese curry place - Shak Shu Ka, fcuking immense dish - was a regular when I lived just off Mersey bank :)  Chorlton always seemed like the singles area and Dids more of the couples, young families, yummy mummies kind of vibe.

As for this weather . . . agree it's too hot to be working in.  Schools I'm in are like saunas at the minute.

For UK holidays though it's ace - was in Cornwall over the weekend and was in the sea twice, and not just a quick head in and leg it out again - I swear it was as warm as the Med, never known owt like it.

Sorry, to say this, but I'm a tad pissed off with this now.

Lawns are fucked, folks perennials starting to wither, and soil like the desert.

And dogs full of bastard goose grass seeds

We haven’t got a hosepipe ban yet. If/when it does come, be prepared to put a brick in your cistern and water your plants with bath water. (Fairly sure 76 lasted till September)

I was reading about that summer the other night. Apparently the winter before it was much like our most recent.

Thinking back to 1995, that’s he hottest summer I remember as a kid, the winter of 94 is the only time I remember proper snow in Blackpool until the big white out in 2010.

Tried to find out what the winter was like after the summer of 76/95 but can’t find much detail other than it generally call comes crashing down in massive downpours in September.

This hurricane in America is gonna balls things up for certain. It’s knock on effect on our jet stream and other cycles could open it all up again.

Had a lovely evening last night.

In a very quiet Bury St Edmunds town centre, sat outside in a cool evening with a pint of Punk IPA; bliss
