Speaking as someone who grew up barely a drunken stumble from you, then moved to Horwich later in life, I feel reasonably qualified to tell you that you’re half correct. There are at least 3 families of sub-continental extraction and 2 families of West Indian origins that I know of living with the Horwich boundaries. So don’t say it’s not diverse. Great Lever does have a much more robust population of ethnic folk. Mainly Indian and Pakistani. Granted, many of them have earned enough money to have composite mock-Roman pillars installed on the front of their houses, but the pavements of Crescent Road and Bradford Road are still of a less desirable nature than those up in BL6. I don’t know what it is about areas densely populated with asian communities, but it appears the council make less effort to send those little cleaning trucks around to give the places a more pleasing aesthetic. Green Lane and Bradford Road towards the hospital are much nicer but I wouldn’t want to guess at the ethnicity of the homeowners there. Quote

Purely demographics as well. UK born and bred Asians upon coming of age want to move from Blackburn Rd, Halliwell Rd, Three D's but are family orientated so tend not to stray far. They're less likely to go away to University, a good number will stay home and study locally. It's a push/pull thing... White shite get ghettoised, nice whites take flight. Old bids die off, cheapish large housing that needs gutting, not having owt done since The Coronation only attract interest from the former demographic. If/when I move it won't be to remain in Bolton. And that includes Horwich. Quote
