Needed to put some in anyway as I only had a quarter of a tank. Went to Harwood Morissons and queued at 6.45. Mate of mine who works there said each pump space was occupied when he opened up at 06.30.

 

I isn't a petrol shortage it's a fucking common sense shortage.

I filled up at Morrisons on Choley old Rd at 6:15 this morning, about 4 vans & 2 taxi's filling, thats all.

Definitely an engineered petrol panic.

If you add in the fact that many places have increased the fuel by around 3p per litre this week too: that's another 0.6p per litre raised in VAT for the Govt coffers.

 

Taxation on fuel accounts for so much of the country's income: those in power will never do anything to help the motorist.

So if i run out fuel i can't get to work - holiday time.

Isnt this possible strike action union led anyway, meaning the supermarket tankers wont be delivering?

Not sure mate (separate union?). I presume there will also be picket lines at the main depots for the supermarket drivers to contend with.

Just popped out to fill up (light came on this morning - no panic buying from me). Sainsburys at Heaton Park has no diesel left.

 

Luckily found a Shell down the road with some. ?75 to fill up. Robbing cunts.

Caught a tram into the centre of Prague this morning and it was 1 min late, I wasn't happy.

How many of you on here have said that you've filled up when you probably wouldn't have done normally and added to the problem? I seem to remember the last strike in 2000 (no need to panic said Tony Blair) when there was no panic before the strike and people were running out of fuel on the motorways! Maybe some people have long memories and even the threat of a strike leads people to take precautions but this is over the top.
