Seriously though I've just looked on twitter at some of the things that have been said, I can't believe how mad some people are going. As far as I can see this thread has everybody agreeing on how bad the tragedy was, nobody mocking it, with some people asking further questions which could be argued haven't yet been answered.

No one has said the poor fans who died were to blame.

Simply; not everyone feels that Liverpool fans are 100% innocent and the Authorities are 100% guilty

IMO "Vile" would be if anyone was mocking the dead in any way at all. I'm pretty certain if anyone did do that they've get an absolute torrent of abuse on here ... and rightly so.

 

As far as I can see though no-one has said anything of the sort.

 

All I can see are opinions on the causes of the events that day. People might think some of our opinions are wrong and maybe misinformed but I fail to see how anyone can be so disgusted with them. Questioning what happened in the lead up to the deaths is in no way direspecting those that died. I've also seen no-one try and defend those who played any part in the subsequent cover-up.

 

Seeing one tweet saying here and Burnden Aces should be shut down particularly amused me

I dont like Liverpool Football Club I never have and I never will a more self centred, sanctimonious clique of an entity exsists no where else in the world - what happened at Hillsborough should never have happened and the cover up that ensued is a disgrace but are some sections of the Liverpool Supporters blameless that day - I doubt it.

 

I did until very recently used to resent what happened at Hillsborough (clearly not 96 innocent people losing there lives) as being the catalyst that changed football from being what I grew to love to a benign, all seater, premiership lead money fest, however having bought my eldest lad his first season ticket this season the thought of taking him to the terraces in the 80's unnerves me to say the least if I am 100% honest, so with the knowledge now that my kids can watch football and I know that they are safe, I am very thankful so perhaps they didn't die in vein.
