September 9, 201213 yr Sickening to see. Police did such a good job clearing all of those people on to the pitch in such a short time, they have to be praised for that. Didn't know it happened so fast, such a surprise there weren't more deaths.
September 9, 201213 yr Author sign of the times i suppose, but the the daft cunts cheering make it worse.
September 9, 201213 yr Really was horrendous that.Seem to remember one of the saturday afternoon sport programmes at the time going over to it live as it happened.
September 9, 201213 yr a few of the posters on here were on the coaches coming back from our game at cambridge when it came on the radio.

September 9, 201213 yr Remember it very well, was in a mini bus back from Cambridge and we had stopped off at a pub in a little village in Bedfordshire and it was showing it on the telly, we had only played Bradford City the match before.
September 9, 201213 yr didnt know john thomas and dave felgate played that day, terrible, and shocking, event was that.
September 9, 201213 yr Seen lots of footage during fire safety training at work. Folks go into auto-pilot during fires and just want to get our of somewhere the way they came in. Truly horrific.
September 9, 201213 yr Gabby Logan (Yorath) was a 12 year-old spectator in that stand with her mother and brother.
September 9, 201213 yr Really was horrendous that.Seem to remember one of the saturday afternoon sport programmes at the time going over to it live as it happened. It was. One of the worst things I have ever watched. Haunting.
September 9, 201213 yr We saw the full coverage of that fire whilst doing steward training at Burnden Park. It showed the remains of fans snuggled at the padlocked turnstiles, not pretty at all.
September 10, 201213 yr Had to watch that video as part of a fire engineering course a couple of years ago! It's absolutely horrific. As a person who hates Liverpool justice etc and all that goes with it. This video made me realise that at the end of the day when you forget the fact we all support different clubs. those people that day regardless of who they were representing where just attending an event. Nobody should not be able to return home from it.
September 10, 201213 yr The press box at VP is on that side of the stadium and I've been 3 or 4 times with Shrewsbury. It always haunts me to think of what occured there in 1985 every time I go. There's a fitting memorial outisde as you walk around to get your passes. And a huge flag up in the Kop which pays homage to the victims. RIP the 56. There's a stand at Sincil Bank by the way (Stacey West I think) which marks the two Lincoln fans killed in the disaster.
September 10, 201213 yr Went to the National Football Museum today with the Mrs, got a bit about disasters in grounds and this was one. Showed the mrs this video when we got back. Horrific viewing really. Her first question "why are there no fire engines when the whole stand is alight?" my response was "because its only been 4 minutes" Mental how quick it spread.
