Dougie Freedman - New Manager

Bolton News are reporting that Gartside has made an approach for Freedman, but Palace are yet to reply.

The daily mail are also running this story.

Personally would give Jimmy a chance.

  • That just crazy talk mate...lets hound him out before he starts.   Like Zico hinted at,we are a championship club, attracting a top manager without a massive budget is nigh on impossible.   OGS led

I think you need some more intelligent friends...

  • for me, the only mistake there would not have been sacking Coyle sooner, and he even managed to take it to the last day   Lee felt like the right choice at the time, soon as it went tits up, Gartsid

i'll stick my neck out at mears, knight,m davies and SKD

Kevin Davies.

He's always the potential fall guy, but always seems to win over the managers. Freedman will be the same.

That's a long neck you have there.

Knight and skd possibly but mears and mavies????

i think mears due to his knobhead mate coyle running the show and offering security, well mears is in for a shock now dougie's here

mavies - same as above really, who did coyle compare him to ? probably thought he was made for life under coyle, again dougie will have him on his toes

Bang on that's who was on my list .

Well lenny is in as assistant.

I'll say Sordell and Knight.

Say what you like about Kevin Davies but he can never be accused of not putting the effort in. Also, whilst I, along with many others, think Mears isn't good enough, I don't think he's done anything to suggest he has the wrong attitude.

I'll say Sordell and Knight.

Mears to me comes across as the scapegoat on here, a bit like eagles was until he started banging in goals.

Ability and performance is nothing. Reputation is everything.

I'll say Sordell and Knight.

Bang on the money

A full effort kd is shit though that's the problem

Knight and Mears 100percunt....But SKD (NEVER) He,d run through brickwalls for This Club....

I agree with jonnycooper

How many on here think the club was made for them?

I'm not saying anyone is or isn't shit. DF's statement, IMO, though points towards an attitude problem.

The fact that Sordell and Knight can;t even get in the squad points towards them, possibly, having an attitude problem. I've also seen nothing to suggest that Mears and K.Davies give anything less than their all.

Just me adding 2 + 2 though...

i think everybody is missing the point re SKD. Everything knows he gives 100% for the club and always has done, but does that give him a divine right to be in the starting X1 week in week out even when he's been bobbins. His missus certainly thinks so judging by her tweets, maybe Dougie has been reading into this, just a thought

as you were

I also got the impression KD (along with a couple of others) was behind the players going against certain managers towards the end of their tenure. I seem to remember reading that Davies, Speed and Nolan were behind Little Sam losing his position and it certainly seemed as though the players were completely ignoring Megson in his last few games. Isn't it possible that Club Captain SKD thinks he knows more than previous management teams and so Dougie wants to remove this problem before it even starts for him? Would certainly line up with his statement of certain players thinking the club is "made for him".

I think Mears will be dropped, Coyle was his safety net IMHO, but I think Freedman's statement is more concerning SKD and possibly Knight.

Does it? I thought his statement was more about players who think they're untouchable.

Therefore an attitude problem,no?

Ability and performance is nothing. Reputation is everything.

If you keep saying it, it won't make it true

Anyway does reputation not born ally come from ability and performance?

Does it? I thought his statement was more about players who think they're untouchable.

.....that's how I read it too

Therefore an attitude problem,no?

Yeah, guess so. But I think there's more to it than that. It hints at something he knows about or has been tipped off about. Perhaps there's a clique in the dressing room or something, undermining of authority. Coyle's last post-match words were down the same road too.

Northerners - Folk who may piss in the sink

The fact they think they'll walk this league is the reason why they are failing and will continue to.

DF isn't experienced/able enough to manage a club like Bolton with their ambitious, yet unachievable, aims of the Premier League.

When they go on a winless run, which has already started, he will be found out very quickly and then sacked.

If we destroy any team this season, I hope it's them. If there's any justice against arrogant little fat w*nking c*nts from oop North, then they'll sink to League 1.

teams you don't hate for whatever reason big or small

the club i came up with was Palace

looks like it could be time for a rethink :)

"We all need to understand from the beginning that you’re only as good as your last game."

"I will make sure they turn up every day determined to get better and respect each other."

"I have a feeling the mentality isn’t right. That has probably spread up through the club."

"There has to be a desire for success"

I like it. Now just go ahead and do it, Dougie.
