Dougie Freedman - New Manager

Bolton News are reporting that Gartside has made an approach for Freedman, but Palace are yet to reply.

The daily mail are also running this story.

Personally would give Jimmy a chance.

  • That just crazy talk mate...lets hound him out before he starts.   Like Zico hinted at,we are a championship club, attracting a top manager without a massive budget is nigh on impossible.   OGS led

I think you need some more intelligent friends...

  • for me, the only mistake there would not have been sacking Coyle sooner, and he even managed to take it to the last day   Lee felt like the right choice at the time, soon as it went tits up, Gartsid

just put him out his misery now

it's like pleading with a bird who's dumping you - "I'll change, just tell me what I need to do"

"It might be a case of not giving players too much responsibility within a system because as we saw against Derby, it went horribly wrong"

that wasn't the first time either - wasn't like we lost 7-1 or anything

I agree with this

it does show all the constant changes in formation and line up have been done hoping to stumble across the right team.

that really pisses me off

call me deluded but i'm going to take from this article, no hope, that he's realised his mistakes and will pick and team and fucking stick to it.

i'm sure he won't though

In Freedman's interview that has just gone on the website, he mentioned "fine lines" about half a dozen times, he must have dug out Coyle's book of phrases & excuses.  Again we just need to take our chances and we've playing very well and are not far away..it's all a weekly theme this.

So tonight is that last ditch break to a shite hotel in Blackpool to try and patch things up??

been there before as well

Coyle picking Muamba and sticking with 4-5-1

it worked

but he couldn't resist to go back when it came to Wigan at home because he'd done 4-4-2 last time we beat them

I expect it'll be the same sort of thing here

This speaks volumes about the bingo caller...

A solid base is crucial for any team that cherishes success and it is something the Whites have distinctly lacked this season.
In 12 matches in league and cup, Freedman has utilised eight different back-four combinations, using nine players.

On only three occasions has he kept faith with the same quartet – made up of Tim Ream, Matt Mills, Dorian Dervite and Dean Moxey – who kept that solitary shutout against Sheffield Wednesday.
They played in successive matches against the Owls, Rotherham and Wolves before Ream was omitted for the Capital One Cup clash at Chelsea.

Prior to that, Ream had been an ever-present, albeit in a variety of positions, with vice captain Matt Mills now the one with the most appearances having sat out just one of the dozen games.
And while last season’s player of the year was also on the sidelines in the weekend defeat to Derby, Ream appreciates the importance of stability at the back.

theres a lot he can be criticised for but i don't think the defensive changes are one of them

his first choice pre season wouldve been bogdan, mcnaughton, wheater, mills and moxey

im not sure all five have ever been available together?

the changes have generally been shunting ream to fill whichever gap has come up, haven't they

i think all five have played in whichever league games theyve been fit for

That's true. I do believe it would have been the same back five whatever if they'd all have been fit.

We've just missed out on a Palace midfielder ? (BN)

The missing link missed.

Oh, don't remind me of that Wigan match. I was so furious I had to walk the 3 miles home too cool off. And at my age.

Bruce Rioch had a similar policy when he came in.Big Sam did until recently. Nothing new to go for what you know.

Might have been more apt if all 3 pathways had us signing a midfielder from Palace.

It's a good policy if you know the player but if you know them and you know their shit it's not a very good idea to sign them.

It's a good policy if you're a good Manager! But not if you're shit like Douglas

From reading that I'm thinking we will go even more Defensive than usual and grind out a nil nil. Unless he suddenly becomes pep Guardiola.

Really think he just wants the sack now; surely he cant be consistently that bad

Looking forward to be paid off

I actually think the back line is pretty solid, despite a lack of support from midfield.

Which is crazy considering I have never know a deeper lying midfield so cut off from our 1 or 2 forwards!

I've never known the site be so synchronised.

We have a winner.

Any prize from the top shelf.

This Belgian chap at charlton has signed mainly Belgian players this summer and charlton are two points off top of the table.

It would of been nice to get Jonny Williams as our palace loan midfielder. He scored for Ipswich 4 mins after coming on as substitute last night.

But unfortunately we got Garvan,.

He's not the Manager. He's just a very naughty boy.

I nearly shit myself today. Walking up Brackley St. in Farnworth there was a notice board outside one of the paper shops saying we were linked with NGog. I thought no, this is the throw after the last throw of the dice.

Fortunately it was an old notice.

Bastard, I'll have to edit the song sheet I'm passing out at Wolves tonight.

Song 1

Jimmy Phillips' Doogie Freedman's Super White Army

Song 2

Jimmy Phillips' Doogie Freedman's Super White Army

Song 3

Jimmy Phillips' Doogie Freedman's Super White Army

Song 4

Jimmy Phillips' Doogie Freedman's Super White Army

Song 5

Jimmy Phillips' Doogie Freedman's Super White Army

Song 6

Jimmy Phillips' Doogie Freedman's Super White Army

All that fucking editing. Is it back to JP?
