the best side I've seen at the Reebok this season.

Agree with that. As bad as we've been at times, I haven't seen anyone better than us.

It's been said before, but this league is daft. It was telling yesterday that two of the teams who were being bigged up as potential top dogs on here earlier in the season got gubbed 4-1 yesterday.

I don't care what people say - as far as teams and results go, The Championship is a more exciting league as far as results are concerned, especially for a team like us. I genuinely have no idea what is going to happen on a Saturday afternoon!

I know. I didn't have a beer yesterday - I don't think anyone saw that coming!

nitpicking here

and if its the biggest problem, then were definitely improving

but start with 1 up front and have 3 strikers on the bench?

how do all 3 sub strikers ever get used?

anyway, doesnt really matter

Agreed.

However, despite our "massive" squad, we were scratching around a bit for anyone else yesterday, I think.

Not really.

Alonso, Riley, Mears all potential subs missing yesterday.

Excluding keeper, all the subs could be justified as starters.

Combined with players such as Ricketts and eagles who can play multiple positions, loads of options.

Scarily enough I partly agree with Dids; Warnock should've been closer to him alot. Especially the goal

And considering he was so left footed, Warnocl should've worked him out alot quicker

That said I like Warnock on general, he's pretty solid

Agreed, I thought warnock was beaten far too often. And by the same little feint too.

That's what I said.

he was exposed way to often in the second half, not picking fault with petrov as he played well ,but maybe he should have helped warnock more.

First half as well. Either Eagles and Lee were swapping over or Eagles was too far inside and Warnock was exposed.

The only things that pissed me off about that game were Ngogs superb finish being wrongly chalked off; him being sent off which was fucking ridiculous and that 7 minutes at the end.

The officials were pitiful - especially the linesman who flagged Ngog offside. That fcuker would definitely be having a rest next week if I was the assessor.

To be fair to the linesman there were only three defenders playing him onside.

It's a difficult job.

Fair point. There were only three. I should go easier on the blind gormless twat :rolleyes2:

Is there a law that says all 3 must get used ?

DF may see N'Gog as a replacement for KD if we stay one up top, and Sordell/Afobe as a front 2 if he changes to 4-4-2.

Or we may be down to our last fit 19 bodies.

Or maybe he's contractually bound to draw numbers out of an hat and got lucky with the starting XI.

I don't know, guess there was a reason for it.

There isnt a law that says you cant play your keeper up front, you still dont do it.

I don't know either, hence the questions mark ffs.

Different attacking options in a game we need to win?

And we're hardly blessed with defensive option anyway

What I was alluding to, and seems to have escaped you, is that there may be tactical resons to have 3 non-identikit strikers on the bench, without ever having any intention of using all 3 in one game.

Your question suggested that it was folly (otherwise it wouldn't be nitpicking, rather a curious observation) to have the aforementioned 3 players on the bench, when you couldnt see a way of ever using all 3 simultaneousley.

Hence my question about it being mandatory.

Re keepers, it's really rare to push your keeper forward like that in a league game, especially in early season. But why do teams leave other players back with they are losing in the 94th minute? Fucking get in the mixer!

Ngog is clearly our biggest goal threat, I'd fuck Sordell off on loan and bench SKD.

It didnt escape me, if Davies or Ngog were unable to play in a 442 then you would have a point, they can though.

My point still stands, was it necessary to have 3 strikers, knowing all 3 would never get used when a full back could have been injured or sent off.

As I said, nitpicking and not a major problem.

mears had fcuked off home - maybe he was down to be a sub

who knows

alonso is dogshit

we had a defender who allowed us to cover all 4 defensive positions

we had a centre mid, a winger

we had 3 forwards

its been obvious for a while the squad is unbalanced in favour of 'flair' types, so hardly odd we're over the top with strikers

I like the 4-2-3-1 formation, I can understand why he played Andrews over Spearing as we would have had 2 dwarves as the sitters.

If he was upto me I would have played Spearing and Andrews as the holders as moved Mavies into the hole in place of Pratley.

What the fuck do I know though

the problem we have is that eagles is currently undroppable and he's miles better centrally

I'd have him in the middle but only at home

I'd have him in the middle but only at home

Sounds a bit gay

Swap pratley for spearing and play mavies as the midfielder pushing on,spearing and Andrews more holding.

Based on twenty minutes yesterday ngog takes the forward role.

All of a sudden team has a solid look to it.

We played top of league yesterday, they scored a lucky goal that went through two players legs. It has been said all season that if we let two goals a game it makes it hard to win games so the starting point has to be conceding less. Once that is sorted look up front.

I can not see a solid formation that include cyl, petrol, mavies AND ngog.

I can see a formation been saying it all season 4-5-1 LCY and Petrov on the wings Spearing, Mavies, Andrews as a central 3 with Ngog up top, tough on Eagles but the other 2 are better players.
