  • lamb hari merchi from india gate   or a madras (beef) vindaloo (chicken) anywhere else   the naga special chicken from ashoka was top notch but that place shut

Vindaloo - the Portuguese curry - wine and potatoes. I usually go for anything that has 'Methi' in it. Someone told me to ask for a portion of the 'staff curry' when in a Restaurant, I've yet to do this as I don't want it to be misconstrued. Has anyone done this?

As an aside, I made some Kedgeree earlier, it's not sitting well - the mackerel was smoked but over the best before date. I was going to finish the rest off but I'm torn now.

What's the usual form for this, i.e. having some leftover food of something that you think might be off?

A. Bin it, not worth making it worse...

or

B. You're probably going to be sh*tting through the eye of a needle anyway, so no point in wasting food too.

I tend to take it out of the fridge and give it a sniff, that'll indicate if its edible or not. I never understand folk who chuck stuff that is only 1 day over

Kedgeree? I only ever used finnan haddock & not that yellowy looking stuff, proper smoked.in a smke house, not sprayed with shit.

I'm not sure I'd like it with mackerel.

I love kedgeree me, probably my favourite breakfast dish.......either that or eggs benedict

Any male who says they eat ultra hot curries is trying to mask there sexuality, most likely a puff:)

My favourite two. Infact, I shall make kedgeree this weekend for breakfast seeing as bread is off the menu

Bugger, I suppose you're having to give Arctic Roll a miss as well......no bother, I'll fetch round a mint Vienetta instead

I'll give it the old sniff test - in for a penny...

This fish was one week over the date - but it was smoked! Finny haddock - that's a blast from the past. It's (kedgeree) nice with smoked mackerel from M&S or somewhere else, I wouldn't use anything other than ready to eat smoked stuff though. And remove the skin obviously (some don't!)

No, you're ok. I've bought one of those packs of frozen raspberry ripple mousses from Farmfoods for when you call round. Just let me know the night before so I can defrost them.

Or someone who prefers to taste their food, not have their mouth burnt.

Rogan Josh or Tikka Masala.

For me its all about the taste & flavour. Dont go for all this macho bollocks about having it hot.

I enjoy the following hot currys - Phal, Vindaloo, Madras & Nagas.

But also partial to a Rogan Josh, Balti or Pasanda.

Love curry me.......

With a Peshwari Nan, and/or Mushroom Pillau.

Dissapointed to only find the one bite, but thanks Mounts :)

I love hot food, but cant be arsed with a hot Curry, just no point.

Chicken Tikka Dupiaza, no rice, 2 Garlic Naan.

some real girls on here

i've only had one curry that was too hot to eat

asda were selling something around one of the football finals, euros or worlds

they called it 'findaloo'

ridiculous, it was

inedible

all this, 'what's the point of hot' are just the ramblings of folks who should still be on baby slops

Tend to go for the lamb biryani from an Indian

That or a chicken madras.

My choice of Curry varies depending on the amount of alcohol consumed... normally I like a chicken tikka pathia but after a few lagers move up to asking for the hottest curry in the house... which invariably ends in tears at the time and worse the morning after.

Either way it's with plain boiled rice.... any other kind deffo makes you a chutney ferret

edit to say

as an aside my favourite curry house when I lived in Carlisle was shut down as it was a knocking shop.... I always wondered why he asked me if I wanted any "extras"

naiive

i find the drunker i am the hotter the curry I'll have

sober a biriyani or rogan josh is always good.

Living in Bratfurt taught me that curries are eaten with no rice and no cutlery.

I've kept the no rice bit, but gone posh and allow the use of a fork now.

Remeber when I was 17 going on London away trip with Smiffs&co.

Ended up in a late night curry-house pissed as,as I didnt want to lose face infront of a table full of older fellas,I ordered a hot one...

My taste buds at that age were nowhere ready for that kind of thing, especially after 17 pints.

My face caved in as I melted like him at the end of Who framed Rodger Rabbit.

Always been Vindaloo or Madras for me. In more recent times, can only take them at lunchtime now. Otherwise, not much sleep with fucking reflux.

Become fond of Chicken Tikka Masala in more recent times (for night time eating) along with Lamb Rogan Josh.

Royal India in central Perth do the best Pork Vindaloo I have ever had. Never with rice - always naans.

This Friday just gone I went down Brick Lane for a curry. The place is immense, and each curry house has people outside touting for your business...anyway in the end we managed to get a deal of £12.00 per person for a starter, main course, side dish, rice and 2 x beers - all very reasonable. Anyway, I must have got swept away with the moment as I asked for a staff/non-western curry....I should have known when his little beady eyes lit up that I was in for a scorcher. It was hot as fuck, I was sweating like a pig. The funny thing is though, even though it was hot, it was tasty as fuck.

The next morning, I had an arse like a dragons nostril!

I've just been thinking back on my Bradford curry memories.

Once saw a lad down a chicken vindaloo in one for a bet. He got it in a takeaway tin foil thingy, put the corner to his mouth and necked it like a pint. The animal.
