i don't really care who goes, so long as freedman is happy with it

i trust this fella and if he thinks it makes sense to 'trade' a few, i'm in

Aye - rumours on some of the less reliable sites about Chungy to Liverpool again.

For me, it would be a shame to see him go, but we have to cut our cloth a bit and, like I've said before, we'd be almost certain to lose him in the summer anyway.

This Craig Dawson signing is a puzzler for me. Steve Clarke has gone on record as saying it will only ever be a short term move as he's got a big future at West Brom.

Unless he's planning on offloading a Centre Half during the window, I'd be happier to see him attempting to build a decent partnership out of the 4 he's got here already. Potentially all this is going to do is give us a temporary fix which we then have to get right again in the summer.

I'm basing this on the fact that we've little to no chance of going up tbis year and we should be looking longer term. Hope I'm wrong.

Is that not just Clarke talking up the price?

bit simplistic this, but maybe its, lets see if any of ours look good at the side ofa good un

lets get him in, cos i can't get the bloke i want from palace til summer

lets get him in cos i want us to start winning a few games

Dawson wants to play first team football. He's not happy playing second fiddle in the prem, he'd rather be in the Championship playing week in week out. If there's not a chance of that at WBA I think he'd try to force a move.

That's exactly as I see it.

What makes him think he'll get week in week out football here? As opposed to hull or Leeds or who ever else was interested.

Another butterfield or afobe situation. ....

Freedman didn't bring in Afobe.

Butterfield was brought in as short term cover due to M.Davies being injured.

... so how is it the same situation?

Butterfield came in November Davies got Injured in December

butterfield came in and freedman preferred what he saw from pratley having realised we didn't have the players to play 442

Oops :)

Depends, I would say that Afobe and Butterfield (Blackburn aside) didn't perform well enough merit a place in the side. Dawson will have to come in and perform well in training and in games to cement a place in the side. He always favoured a return the North West and I believe Freedman had a big part in persuading him to choose us, as there was temptation for him to go with someone he knew in Appleton at Blackburn. That probably would have been the safer option for him.

I have no idea if he's going to be good enough, he's performed well for U21s, and extremely well for Rochdale in League 1 & 2, but only played a handful of games in the Prem where he's done relatively OK I believe. But he does fit the young, hungry, committed and a point to prove mould which Freedman seems to favour at this moment.

He's only played 162 minutes this season.

Three minutes since September.

Just saying.

Like Sordell?

Ref Alonso.

Manchester Evening News website today (in its article about us signing Davies on loan) concludes that

"The former Real Madrid youngster's contract at the Reebok runs out at the end of the season.

However, he is thought to be negotiating a new deal."

here it is in full.

Or Alonso agent is trying to get a better deal from Bolton

Like Sordell?

Just not fit enough to play twice a week.

IF we worked on the assumption that this season is a write off then the Dawson signing makes no sense. We should spend the rest of the season identifying which or if any of our current centre backs are up to it and also getting wheater ready and raring for the preseason.

IF freedman still thinks this season is a goer AND he doesn't think knight ream and Ricketts are capable or that wheater and possibly mills will come back up to it, then fair enough.

This is all baring in mind it's taken freedman 2 months now to get the current team to understand what he wants. Therefore how long will it take Dawson to get up to speed?

But are we not better getting a team ready for next year now or wait until per-season, get the players in now, get them to gel now and they will be flying from the get-go

Clarke is saying Dawson isn't for sale now but that might change in the summer if the Baggies finish top half and are looking to push on.

According to Freedman, the bid for Alonso from Fiorentina as been rejected

Our manager is once again making the right noises

Freedman: "We've had loan offers for Tom Eaves and Joe Riley, but I don't feel that the time is right for either of them to leave on loan."
