jturner Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Andy needs to start shaping, I see that instead of just targetting the Grand Slams Roger fancies being the world number 1 for Xmas. Quote
jayjayoghani Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Because of Murray's fantastic end of year last year and the ranking points he has to defend, no way he'll end this year as No1. Quote
jayjayoghani Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Thinking about it, he probably needs to win the US Open, he only got to the QF's last year. He won every tournament last year after the US Open. Quote
jturner Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 His absences due to injury mean either Roger or Rafa is certain to be No 1 before the end of August. Quote
jturner Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 An injury to Roger means that Rafa will be the world number one next week. It looked as though 20 year old Zverev might be the next "star" to come through in his victory over Roger, but now knowing Roger was injured maybe not. Quote
bolty58 Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 I know one thing, if I hear one more American say "Wimbleton", my big screen will be in danger. Drives me fucking nuts. Quote
Good Knee Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 The ex footballer pundits here drive me fucking mad they say Birminum and fucking Notinum imbeciles. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Watched Stuart Pearce on question of sport last night. What a numb cunt- how's he managed big clubs? Quote
Farrelli Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Watched Stuart Pearce on question of sport last night. What a numb cunt- how's he managed big clubs? Mostly very badly. Quote
Farrelli Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Rafa Nadal into semis at US Open. Potential collosal match with Federer if he wins later. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Murray out for the rest of the season. Needs to get right for next year, as I can't see him going on too much longer. Quote
Traf Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Murray out for the rest of the season. Needs to get right for next year, as I can't see him going on too much longer. What real motivation does the happy-go-lucky fella have, though? Quote
MalcolmW Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Rafa Nadal into semis at US Open. Potential collosal match with Federer if he wins later. Not happening. Quote
MalcolmW Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 What real motivation does the happy-go-lucky fella have, though? Leading Scotland to Davis Cup victory. Quote
Sweep Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Murray out for the rest of the season. Needs to get right for next year, as I can't see him going on too much longer. Apparently he could be down as low as world number 17 next year, due to his injury and poor form this year Quote
Traf Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 But ranked at 17 with no points to defend, it makes it easier for a player of his undoubted quality to get back to the top. Because the rankings are fundamentally flawed. Quote
Sweep Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 But ranked at 17 with no points to defend, it makes it easier for a player of his undoubted quality to get back to the top. . Indeed, if he gets anything like back to form, he'll roar back towards the top again. I agree, the points system is definitely flawed Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Nick kyrgios at it again. Why the hell don't they just ban him; or at least don't invite him to participate. Quote
jturner Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 Its disappointing that there still isnt a top quality youngster coming through.Zverev is the best of a poor bunch up to 4 in the rankings but he's got beat by Del Petro today, it's just a cake walk for Nadal and Federer right at the top. Quote
Farrelli Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Is it the end for Andy Murray as a top ten player ? He does not seem to be able to get over this hip injury and may need an operation. I really hope he can come back because he has been one of the best sportsmen we have ever produced. Quote
Casino Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 talk of a hip replacement thats a bit shitty Quote
L/H White Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 He's finished Made enough money now to enjoy his life Doesn't need to play Quote
Sweep Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 talk of a hip replacement thats a bit shitty if he needs a hip replacement, then he's done, it's a shame, but he's won the slams and been out greatest ever tennis player, we'll be waiting a long time for another with his talent to come along I think Quote
Guest Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Its not the way to go out. I'm fairly sure he'd have wanted a couple of years on tour winding slowly down. As it is, he's going to finish at the peak of his career. Which is nice in a way, frustrating in another. I can see him playing again (unless he needs the full op) but not really ever competing again. Quote
Casino Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 on the upside, he gets to spend more time in bed with kim Quote
