Alf Hartigan Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Y'know, I am beginning to like the lad. As a punter, it isn't often you can green up on a sporting final with as close to absolute certainty that a certain persons opponent will almost certainly win. Cheers Andy it was a 50/50 final going into it, you obviously know fook all about it Bolty. congratulations on your win though. Quote

I'll raise a celebratory glass to our Andy when I collect. Yep, you are right. Know fuck all about it. No time for individual sports. Generally breeds selfish, moody or arrogant pricks in my experience. Team sports is where it's at. Quote

Bolty's right; in no way could that describe any footballers for example Quote
bolty58 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Bolty's right; in no way could that describe any footballers for example Hold on a minute there. Go back to my comments about overpaid PL prima donnas which many on here also believe. Consistently said I get far more pleasure out of watching Blue Square games on Setanta than I do the Premier League. So, although that was an attempted sideswipe borne out of Murray failure frustration, we sing from the same songsheet about top level football it appears. Quote
DazBob Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Is Murray actually greedy, arrogant or selfish? I'd say he comes across as a determined but decent chap. Always comes across as magnanimous in defeat too. I'd say the same applies to Djokovic and Federer too. Quote

bolty58 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 (edited) If you think I will accept that as the work of a WUM, you are sadly mistaken Jules Edited January 28, 2013 by bolty58 Quote
bolty58 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Where did you meet him? You've forgotten all of the previous discussion? FFS, Spider. Dusit Thani Hotel, Bangkok. Malaysian Open. Also met a raft of others who were personable, pleasant and happy to engage with the public. Murray was the opposite in all facets. The standout for friendly, happy demeanour was Bagdatis (could be spelled incorrectly - definitely not a tennis fan). Quote
bolty58 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 DazBob - are you telling me that besides being a serial choker, Murray bats for the other side!!!??? Good profit generator for me though so, live and let live eh? Quote
no balls Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I've met a number of sportspeople & managers, some pleasant, some arrogants cunt with no manners. I suppose the difference between him and others i've met, Murray appears to be growing up a bit. The Olympics was a good example. Quote

maaarsh Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Nice lottery for the next 2 big ones now. Murray 2nd and Nadal 5th in rankings, so might get a bye to the final without playing anyone serious, or might have to play all 3 of them in consecutive matches. Quote
smithills_gent Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 I don't think it matters for the French, I don't think he's good enough to win it even if he draws nobodies until the Final.Wimbledon's different, it's possible he can win if he only has to play one of them. Quote
bolty58 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Murray out! A pleasingly regular TV sports headline. Quote
