maaarsh Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Not trying to restart a discussion, but worth noting for the serendipity of this coming back up just now - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/cycling/9816922/Spain-accused-of-a-doping-cover-up-as-doctor-implicated-in-cyclings-Operation-Puerto-scandal-goes-on-trial.html Quote
jayjayoghani Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 mmmm But despite Fuentes freely admitting to working with professional footballers and tennis players as well as cyclists, the Spanish authorities have ruled that the case will only cover his involvement in cycling. Quote
maaarsh Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Fuentes has been quoted as saying he could have the Spanish world and european football wins taken away if he spoke. The way Barcelona have taken a selection of short, physically slight players who in previous years would be technically gifted but not the strongest or fittest, and got them playing with the strength, speed and stamina of 6 foot 4 Ghanians is really 'impressive'. maaarsh Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Wanderersways favourite Andy 'British' Murray is up a break in the first against Roger. Quote
maaarsh Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Should be 2 breaks really - playing very solidly so far, always looks the winner in longer rallys. Quote
maaarsh Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 6-4 first set, hope the next 2 are that simple. Quote
DazBob Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Our Andy has denfinitely got a whole new mind set since his Wimbledon win. To win the toss, choose ends instead of serving first and then attack Federer from the off is the sign of someone who thinks he can win against anyone. Come on our Andy. Quote
maaarsh Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Eugh, only man to threaten a break but loses the tie breaker. Quote
maaarsh Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 So far this is comfortably the best Murray has ever served in a big match - Federer has never got near him, aces for fun, but still a very high percentage too. Quote
zurichwhite Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Those two tie breaker losses would have done in the former Murray but he's definitely mentally and physically tougher now. Should be another good final but Djokovic is on fire at the moment. Quote
DazBob Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Come on our Andy. 5-2 up now in the final set. Showing real character, especially as you'd have thunk that Federer would've had the momentum after levelling at 2 sets each. Just spotted that the BBC reporter is called Ben Dirs. Quote
Smiley Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Very good win. He can be British for the weekend now. Quote
superjohnmcginlay Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Good win thought he'd blown it after losing the tie break Well done Quote
bolty58 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Here's hoping for his usual fall at the last hurdle. Quote
Underpants Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I'm warming to Murray. Undies likes a winner. I've upgraded him to just a Scottish cunt. Quote
DazBob Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) Here's hoping for his usual fall at the last hurdle. Never mind, maybe next year will be Hewitt's year. Edited January 25, 2013 by DazBob Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Was on top throughout, well done Murray lad. Quote
Traf Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Yes, well done, our Andy. It's fantastic when someone you've always supported cracks the big time. Quote
Sweep Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Here's hoping for his usual fall at the last hurdle. I don't know what he did to you in that lift that has made you so bitter, but you may want to consider getting over it Quote
jazza Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) Take it he's British again unless he loses At least bolty's consistant.. He always detests him Edited January 25, 2013 by jazza Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Well done Murray- I thought he'd be another Henman and never win a major- he's proved me wrong. Quote
