It's happened recently Ive been going through the change, seems I'm starting to prefer bitter than lager, is this normal,

 

 

The wychwood breweries stuff is my favourite especially hobgoblin

but sometimes you can't beat an ice cold bottle of Bud.

I'm willing to be educated but can think of any decent British lagers.

I used to sup lager until I was about 22, had 4 cans of strongbow one night at home and never had it since.

 

Over the last 6 months though, I've started having the odd session on John Smiths or Boddingtons.

I'm willing to be educated but can think of any decent British lagers.

asda had it for a while but think you'd need to mail order it these days since they ent bust and started again under new owners

Not off lager all together but more often prefer something with a bit of taste these days. Quite a few pubs round here with a good selections, regularly changed and well kept.

Normally do wine and not done beer previously- fuck me it's superb.

Bud light was ok when I was in NY and it was red hot, went down quickly and did a job, but normal bud taste like gassy copper or something to me

 

Budvar on the other hand, lovely

thwaites IPA and wainwright ale are superb.

 

but guinness is still the best.

Old speckled hen is a fine ale but a bit heavy-Flat cap or any wainwright will do for a full day session though

I was in Chorley the other day and hadn't realised Yate's Wine Lodge is no more. First, and only, place I had Aussie white wine, fuck me it was lethal when mixed!

You don't want anything that starts with a 5 for quaffing. Low 4s or high 3s are just the job. Anything higher than 4.5 just tastes of 'strongness' and you can't taste the beer.

Stones bitter, had a few in other towns, but in the Globe in Sheffield it used to give me a really bad headache the following day, it must have been full of chemicals.
