In your eyes and many Bolton fans eyes it might but in Kevin Davies eyes it clearly has not been dealt with correctly, this was always an accident waiting to happen and needed handling with kids gloves and clearly it should have been dealt with better.

What a player he's been for us. So many great memories. Our club dont deal with such issues that well do they?? Campo, Djorkaeff and now Kev could have been handled alot better in a PR sense. Im sure he'll be appriciated more when he isnt here. Super Kev. Bolton legend.

I've had a suspicion for a little while that SKD thought himself bigger than the club. Despite his legend player status for us, he's been one of the least effective on-field captains I've seen at any level. Maybe the club were afraid to tackle that issue till he moved on or retired. It's puzzled me for a while - not that we're exacly brimming with contenders out of OC's poor squad.

No problem with anyone disagreeing with me, it seems most people on here side with Gartside I'm more sceptical for me I trust in KD version of events over Gartside as one comes over as decent honest and loyal the other comes over as devious and duplicitous so I will go with my gut feelings in this one and quite happy to be the odd one out.

This testimonial stuff is a non-story which is being sensationalised by Adrian Durham as he has nothing else to talk about, of course he will be getting one.

Davies did not know on Saturday, Gartside said that Freedman broke the news to Davies on Monday Gartside said he had an idea that Freedman was not going to offer him a contract.

So it was a manager who is working to take us forward who doesn't want him. Seems fair. I know I seem to defend Gartside a lot but far more seem to just blindly slate Gartside and back the badge kissers

My last post on this subject you will be pleased to know but KD is no badge kisser a more loyal player would be hard to find, and I think he deserved special treatment when his time with us was up, a meeting with owner chairman and manager should have been the order of the day with the immiediate offer of a testimonial and possible coaching opportunity if not now after a period of time to gain experience, instead we've had a massive PR blunder and looking like a non caring club it could easily have been avoided.

BWFC could quite easily have told Davies they weren't willing to discuss his future until the end of the season.

They could then have told him in June that he was no longer required, possibly meaning he'd miss out on a decent deal elsewhere.

 

Bottom line is that as a slow 35yr old striker, he is surplus to requirements.

Well done Garty for showing some proper leadership today unlike our skipper and fronting up and telling it how it is I now hope Davies is loaned out he's made a right bellend out of himself
