Guest Blixa Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Allardyce wouldn't have gone on Talksport. He'd have written a long opinion piece in a tabloid, throwing a big chunk of self-promotion into the mix too. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 As a final point, worth noting that when the fixtures kick in again for all clubs on Saturday, no one outside of Bolton will give a second thought about Kevin Davies and his testimonial again. He has filled a news void in the tabloids and on shouty radio stations. The club knows it can ride this out for 48 hours, then deal with it properly, outside the national press. The only loser here is SKD, who needs to get everyone at Bolton back onside - he needs bums on seats for a match at the Reebok in the dead season with piss poor public transport and I would guess, pretty middling opposition. Charity or not, pre-season games at the Reebok are only ever for the truly dedicated. But good luck to the lad, he deserves something, just a shame he's had to resort to this nonsense to get it. Let's hope he hasn't signed for someone like Blackburn in the run-up to the match. That's not going to help. Quote
Casino Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 i just hope he goes today and i hope this doesn't create a divide in the match going support, starting at charlton on saturday Quote
Ghana White Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I've listened to both interviews. Who advised Davies?? For most of the interview he comes across alright but when you're being goaded none stop you're going to slip up and say things that are jumped upon and blown up. I thought gartside came across well but again it's not the greatest platform for it. Disappointed because I think Davies is basically a good bloke but this is the football equivalent of going on Jeremy Kyle Quote
Carlos Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Emma "advises" Kevin I.e. pulls the strings. Garty is a fucking melon going on the radio, bit like cup final ticketgate. Quote

He'd have written a long opinion piece in a tabloid, throwing a big chunk of self-promotion into the mix too. He'd have been on Sky Sports Fucking News, every bastard 15 minutes. (like he was yesterday, bigging himself up for a new contract: fat cunt) Quote

enzo gambaro Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 i just hope he goes today and i hope this doesn't create a divide in the match going support, starting at charlton on saturday There's been division all season anyway - it will only go away when SKD does. I wanted rid last season so I didn't have to hear him be abused by his own every week. He deserves better, even if he hasn't come out of the week particularly well. Quote

Enzo you have an annoying habit of talking sense. It's not welcome on here you know that by now. Quote

There's be far more players / coaches getting more abuse than Davies. If it had stayed as it is I'd say he'd have gotten away with it as he's generally been one of the poorest if not the poorest but rightly so given support due to being a club legend. Yon mon is right. Over the last few months, especially during the wins our fans have generally been in good spirits. This Davies situation could really damage that. Megson created a divide with people being for and against. It may be best just not to pick Davies anymore Quote
tomski Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Is Davies a boo boy? I've not heard ought. Quote
no balls Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Is Davies a boo boy? I've not heard ought. I think it was going that way. It's been difficult at times to watch him but I've only heard mumblings more of it being a shame than boooos Quote

enzo gambaro Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 My thoughts as well. I've been pissed off with him this year but not heard anything more than a grumble. There's been plenty. I'm not saying any more than others have had (it's Bolton, after all), but certainly more than someone who has been a pivotal part of our relative success in recent times deserves. Quote

Sweep Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) is there still time to hound him out? I think so We'll have to see if NB still has that stockpile of pitchforks as well, so we can do it properly Edited March 28, 2013 by CWP Quote
DazBob Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 He'll score a handful of goals next season and the usual fucksticks will be saying how we should've kept him. MMW, factafuckingmundo. Quote

Rembrandt Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 No problem with anyone disagreeing with me, it seems most people on here side with Gartside I'm more sceptical for me I trust in KD version of events over Gartside as one comes over as decent honest and loyal the other comes over as devious and duplicitous so I will go with my gut feelings in this one and quite happy to be the odd one out. Wouldn't disagree with you about Gartside in any shape or form. The man's a ........... But I've not been a happy bunny about the SKD situation for quite a whiie, so I won't be trusting what he (or his wife) says either. Quote
Guest Blixa Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 has he gone, yet? No, he's just compiling a backtracking statement with his agent, which is likely to be released tomorrow morning, something like 'misunderstood', 'never wanted to leave', 'love the club/fans', 'still looking to prove self for new deal', 'ready to give it my all against Charlton' - all of that in any order you like.
