Guest Blixa Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Perhaps so, but the current story claims we've stopped him by closing his contract just prior to the cut off. That's not true. It still needed agreeing. The tax thing is probably irrelevant if the proceeds are going to his charity (which is also being inferred by various reports today). Quote
Casino Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 aye anyway, its not important question for me is can DF get shut of him and get us a goalscorer before saturday Quote
Carlos Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Give him a week contract just to stop this story, simples. Quote
Eddie Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Henry Winter on twitter this morning saying that its disappointing that bwfc are denying Davies a testimonial which would have helped charity, thus painting the club in a very bad light due to the comments of our club captain. However an hour later he then must have heard the truth about the matter and tweeted that he has just spoken to Gartside and Davies will have a testimonial if he asks. Some people won't have seen that second tweet, some people will just hear the rumours that we're denying our captain a testimonial because of 5 days and the clubs name will be dragged through the mud throughout many conversations across the country. I don't particularly care what other people think but this has all come about because he decided to make some rash comments on national radio. I realise that a lot of what I have said on this thread makes it sound like I dislike K.Davies but I don't at all. Like I said before I will be forever grateful for what he has done for the club, witnessing his goal in Munich will forever be one of my best Bolton memories and there are many more less glamourous goals and performances that have been just as crucial, he is a Bolton great and will be forever but some of his decisions and comments surrounding this whole situation have left a bit of a sour taste at the moment. Breightmet Boy Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I don't remember any other player making such a stink as SKD has here. Just go gracefully even if you are upset, it's the manly thing to do. I'm sure there's people on here who have lost their jobs without the financial clout of SKD. If he does want to go into training/management I think he may of just burned a few bridges opening his mouth Quote

This. I tweeted Winter to ask if he was sure of his facts. The original tweet from him had over 400 retweets, the clarification had 43 when I last looked. I've been getting stick all morning on site for that interview he did, lost any respect or good feeling towards the man that I may previously have had. Quote
Garrp Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 dont worry everyone Homo assures us Emma Davies isnt a cunt. Quote
Rembrandt Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 WTF is SKD moaning about ? I always thought he was a 'big strong man' as well as a big strong footballer. He's 36; no footballer goes on forwever; his game has been deteriorating for a couple of seasons. How the hell can he be "hurt, shocked and surprised" ? Very few of the fans are. I agree with Eddie (above). He's been a legend for us, but it's a shame he seems intent to leave us all on a sour note. And I would have expected better of Henry Winter, of all the national sports press. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Davies should count himself very lucky- he's been pants for a good few years, and has been lucky to get new contracts. Without them, a testimonial would never have come into being. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Who's Zat Knight going to hoof it too now? I suspect he might not be hoofing it anywhere near the Reebok in the very near future. Quote
no balls Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I see Darkslime has paid tribute today. Wanker! Quote
Traf Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 did she really say that? I think I'm going to be sick if she did. And she posted this as his birthday card. https://twitter.com/emmadavies68/status/316441241598451713/photo/1 Quote
Traf Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Oh, and the silly bint has retweeted this: BWFC treatment of SKD just shows why players aren't loyal to clubs Quote

Sweep Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Surely he must cringe when he sees what she's busy tweeting. He ought to go home and punch her right in the cunt and tell her to stop being a dick Quote
Biggish Dave Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 She comes across as a selfish witch - Davies moving to a new club means she won't be the head witch in the covern anymore and thats what she's bothered about Quote
Smiley Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 He's THIRTY-FUCKIN'-SIX..... 84 goals in 407 appearances makes him no Ryan Giggs. What is everyone bleating about. He's been paid well over those 10 seasons. His wife will have comforts afforded her that none of us will ever get close to. HOWEVER... I'm all for the last game of the season being a huge tribute to the man. The club and the fans could really do themselves proud on this one. A stadium 80-100% full as opposed to a pre-season get-together in an empty soulless stadium. The club could produce some merchandise, programme dedicated to SKD with his charity being the benefactors. Mrs Davies really needs to pull her head back down from the clouds and consider all of this. The club has let players go too early IMO before. But within the following season its been justified and I've been wrong. Djorkaeff, Frandsen, Campo, McGinlay, N'Gotty, etc - none of them did theirselves any justice after leaving the club. Quote

scoobydoo Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Thought davies came across as a right soft arsed on talkshite , rules on testimonials were same as when he signed his last contract so why not enquire then ? Think the club will be glad to see back of that daft bint at least !! Quote
campo'swig Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Playing/history aside, this stinks of a player/family being far too heavily involved in things on and off the field- the manager doesn't think highly of it for the future of the club and the direction he has in mind for BWFC and has got rid. As a rule, we have a decent (but not perfect) record of spotting when a player has come to the end of the road with us due to age. Quote
