Biggish Dave Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Jesus christ, I don't know where to start with some of the shit in this thread but this seems as good as any. You seem to have described the modern day 'SKD' when trying to describe Craig Davies. Defenders must piss themselves when they now see K.Davies' name on the team sheet, he is now unfortunately completely fucking useless, whereas at one time they would be shaking in their boots. As for his use in the last 20 minutes to see out a game which someone mentioned above, again that is also bollocks as he can't hold anything up, balls bounce off him, he doesn't win headers, he gives away free kicks and he doesn't have the legs to pressure and chase seemingly lost causes. All this does is culminates in giving possession back to the opposition and invites further pressure on the defence. We were kind (stupid) to offer Davies a new deal when his old one ran out at the end of last season, it has been clear to see for a few years that his ability is rapidly declining and he is starting to drag the way we play down. Why people think that he is owed a coaching role by us is also beyond me. Why does Dougie owe him anything? Where is this coaching space that he is too take? Who says he is a good coach? I want the best people here and not mates of the club, wasn't that the problem when Coyle was here? Also if he was to be put in a coaching role and therefore continue to become even more 'part of the furniture' at the club, would that not mean that he would start to become even more influential than the manager? As soon as we lose a few games there'd be the same old twats shouting for him to become the manager. As for the disrespect we have apparently shown him, all I've seen from the club is a statement from Freedman that explains the situation and explains that Davies has been told now so that he can work on finding a new club, thus helping him out and not leading him on. If anything IMO Davies has been the cunt in all this, what is the need to go come out in the national press and basically moan about it all. All it has done is cause trouble. Players come to the ends of their contracts and leave clubs regularly, I don't understand why he thinks he has the right to be offered a new one. I will forever be grateful for what Davies has done for us but this all seems a bit twattish to me. I genuinely don't see what the club have done wrong here, its just another reason for the usuals to put a spin on it and slate the club. Bravo Quote

snowball Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 This thread really does show there are some very simple folk who support Bolton, who thankfully will never have to make the hard decisions. Anyone suggesting a coaching role needs to give their head a wobble. The whole ridiculous birthday angle is pathetic as well, KD knew well before. Anyhow last comment on this for me.KD must have been Bolton's best value signing in living memory. There may be no such thing as loyalty in modern football but he came very close to making us believe otherwise, a wanderers legend who made every white proud when he got that England cap. I have some fantastic memories and in the future when we have some opposing defenders taking liberties, I bet Bolton fans everywhere will say he wouldn't have done that with KD, he would have sorted him out and the memories will come flooding back. Good luck to him wherever he goes and when all this is sorted I hope he can carry on coming back to the Reebok long after his playing days are done and get the reception he deserves, like the other (proper)legends do. jules_darby Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 You don't want to read her twatter this morning 'club dont want him' 'couldn't sleep' 'kids crying' i hate her guts Maybe SHE is the reason he didn't get a coaching role? Quote
Guest Blixa Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 You don't want to read her twatter this morning 'club dont want him' 'couldn't sleep' 'kids crying' i hate her guts I use Twitter, never even looked at her feed. Why would anyone do that? She's a player's wife, nothing more. If folk are following her and getting wound up by it, then that's pretty much your own problem. Best thing SKD and his wife can do is keep quiet from now on. They've created a lot of resentment from 'the game' towards Bolton, which is ridiculous. The contract isn't happening, move on or focus on the club that is (if I'm not mistaken) still paying out big weekly wages. Love SKD for all he's done for the club, but this is all getting a bit messy, taking a lot of shine off things. Quote
Flannel Truscott Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 The woman is a CUNT. I wonder if she thought about the 000's of players who get released from the lower leagues having never earned 10m+ Quote

I wonder if she thought about the 000's of players who get released from the lower leagues having never earned 10m+ Or thousands / millions of normal folk getting made redundant in the last few years with no savings, no house paid off and no donkeys and no chance of walking into another job earning just as much. I feel like twittering her this and say stop wallowing but I can't be arsed getting abuse of the sycophants. Quote
Garrp Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Maybe SHE is the reason he didn't get a coaching role? I said as much on twitter. No swearing, just a simple question. Blocked. Quote
cbwfcd Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I haven't looked at her twitter feed in years and don't intend to now. If her kids are crying that's her fault. I don't really get what the fuss is about, loads of speculation about he should have been offered this and that, truth is that no-one knows what he was offered or whether he would be willing to take it. He wasn't going to carry on playing forever, so this would have happened one day, just happens to be yesterday, he looks past it and should retire anyway IMO The only thing I'd say is that it's shit of the club if he is refused a testimonial, but as the club haven't said that I don't have any problem with how they have handled it. no balls Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Why on earth is she writing this shit and why is she upsetting her kids. I'd go as far as to say if she's polluting their minds, she's a bad mother. Quote
Carlos Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Big Kev wants to stick one on her and tell her to shut the fuck up. If she's reduced the kids to tears, Children's Services should pay a visit. I suspect she's making it up, vacuous cunt. Quote

passmosster Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 He's not been the 90 min answer for some time now, but if you're 2-1 up with 20 mins to go & need an experienced head to defend corners, hold the ball up upfront, win free kicks & fight for everything then he's still more than good enough IMO. Put it like this, he's miles better than Welbeck at this. Quote

This has all the ingredients of allardyces departure where the man should be recognised unanimously as a hero but isn't for leaving like an arse. I hope I'm wrong. Carlos Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Re the testimonial, don't all contracts end on the same date, 31st July or something. So to get over 10 years in, you need to be at a club for 11 seasons, or part of therein? Quote
Guest Blixa Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 dont be silly no balls did you not see her self praise yesterday 'behind every great man is a great woman' He's got another woman? That's very modern sharing it with the wife. Quote
ZiggyStardust Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Re the testimonial, don't all contracts end on the same date, 31st July or something. So to get over 10 years in, you need to be at a club for 11 seasons, or part of therein? I'm sure that ANY player can have a testimonial. Wether you have been there 20 years or 5 mins. However any monies raised will not be tax-free unless you qualify for the 10 year period. I'm pretty sure I read something along those lines when Trescothick was having his testimonial year. Quote

Casino Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Put it like this, he's miles better than Welbeck at this. he wasn't against peterbrough it wasn't the only time this season, either maybe i'm judging him on what he was, but for me, he should call it a day Quote
Guest Blixa Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Football League rules: A Club may, at its discretion and with the prior consent of the Executive, allow the use of its ground for the purpose of a testimonial match to be arranged on behalf of any Player who has completed ten years or more in the service of the Club. - so you don't automatically get one after 10 years (as the current story hints at). It still needs to be agreed. Quote
Casino Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 but the ground belongs to eddie davies he can let anybody use it he could let me use it surely, the 10 years is only about tax implications? Quote
