bgoefc Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) No panic yet, but there is a picture forming in my mind of no British side in Brazil next year. I fear more draws next Sept/Oct when Poland and Montenegro come to Wembley shut up shop and get the inevitable goal. As one of the pundits pointed out last night, apart from Rooney no one in that side seems to score many goals for their clubs. Edited March 27, 2013 by bgoefc Quote
frank_spencer Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I get that wellbeck is a hard worker but he's not a very good footballer imo. Surely we've another striking option besides him? I like Uncle Roy but his lack of any attempt to change things in the 2nd half last night was plain stupid. Quote

Regardless of age he gives a team so much more than Cleverley/Carrick ever will. I get that wellbeck is a hard worker but he's not a very good footballer imo. Surely we've another striking option besides him? Welbeck is turd - he was embarrassing last night. Better options come in the form of Defoe and Sturridge. Quote
jules_darby Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Welbeck is hardly turd He doesn't appear to be a goalscorer though Quote
mannyroad58 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Is it wrong to find Roy Keane amusing as a pundit? I like Keano as a pundit he say's it how it is, i can't stand that boring cunt Southgate he's 1 Mr FA if ever i saw 1 Quote
bwfc87 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Sturridge should be given a chance for England Quote

maaarsh Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 'Football against racism in Europe' have made a complaint about racists chanting against Rio & Anton Ferdinand at the San Marino game. Always get a warm fuzzy feeling when a well meaning third party decides to get offended about things on other people's behalf. Just what the world needs. Did anyone hear anything beyond 'Fuck off'? jules_darby Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 What exactly were they supposed to have chanted? Quote
MalcolmW Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 What exactly were they supposed to have chanted? According to Mail online: The chant was: 'Build a bonfire, build a bonfire, put Rio on the top, put Anton in the middle, then burn the f****** lot.' maaarsh Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Racism???? "Sometimes there are things that are more subtle at play." This is so subtle only the really Grade A, top notch, professional offendee can realise how upsettingly racist it is. Quote

maaarsh Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Turns out the head of this self appointed watchdog called someone a coconut on twitter, so hardly surprising he's now running to support Rio 'Choc Ice' Ferdinand. Quote

MalcolmW Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Ireland, Scotland and Wales? Pah! Give me 9 games against those and id bag in all of em! Well he was the original StevieB. His last international was 1907. England didn't play foreign opposition until a tour in June 1908 with 4 matches in 8 days, routing Austria 6-1 and then 11-1, Hungary 7-0 and Bohemia 4-0. Greg Rutherford's great-grandad played all 4 matches, scoring in the last 3. Quote
