We're Not Ready To Go Up

People keep saying to me

How do they know?

when we win the play off final,we'll ask the FA if it's ok to postpone our promotion until next season when we are ready.

there's enough experience at the reebok to ensure everything will be fine when we get back there in may, grab it with both hands i say

I think it's ridiculous, what makes anyone think we will be better prepared for the premiership after more seasons in the championship. We would almost certainly be weaker.

what is ready?

The point is we have all seen how relentless the premiership is.

In our current squad. I would question any of the defenders being good enough.

Midfield might get by but no one has shown they can perform at that level for a full season.

We do not score many in this division so will struggle for goals if we go up.

We are not ready. But if you assume we would sign players of a better standard if we went up. Dawson and spearing sign permanently as first step.

Was on radio yesterday that Southampton finished one point behind reading last season, they hen spent 37 million in the summer. (I was amazed at the amount but this what they said on radio 5)

Look at league now you would Southampton were ready for the move up. Reading were not. So it is not what we have today that matters it is what we could have for start of next season that matters.

So we are not ready but could be come start of next season if we get the right investment. Not sure we will though.

We would have been far too good to go down with Holden and Lee (even with Coyle)

We have lost no players of note really, not goung up will be a big failure, I think not getting automatic promotion is an under achievement, even if we have improved massively under DF.

We stay in the Championship, we'll lose our players eventually, they are here now because we have only been down 1 season

Is it a saying from those who actually wanted us to go down because then we have something to try and win and there are new stadiums to visit?

If we are not ready, then we'll not be 'more ready' next season, what exactly will make us more ready? we have players who have played in the Prem NOW, spend more time at this level and we'll have players used to playing in the lower leagues.

people MASSIVELY underestimate how good this division is because of the results

not just enjoyment but in terms of quality

Its light years ahead of any other 2nd division in world football and its stronger that most top leagues as well.

the difference between the top 8 in the championship and the bottom 8 in the prem really isnt and much

and no, that isnt a sign of how poor the premiership is either.

Get promoted. Don't spend get relegated and in turn reduce the debt. 2 year plan to rebuild.

We might get lucky and stay up without investment.

What people don't realise is that next year with the bt deal in place the team who comes last in the premiership will receive the same amount as the champions this year!

So nothing to lose!

IIRC with the new sky deal starting next season doesn't the bottom team in the Prem earn c.£60m? If that's the case we need to go up ready or not

For me no doubt ready or not need to go up we have been let off with a poor start due to this league being so wide open.next year will be a massive difference in this league

On a selfish note, whilst I would love to see us promoted, because i love to see us win.I must say I have enjoyed knowing we are playing Sat at 3 or Tue at 8 and not being fucked about by Sky.

After reading some comments on here i now realise that we need to go up, ready or not. Even if it means going back down, the long term effects will be beneficial

Reminds me of those two failures in 76 and 77 when our young side threw it away. The conspiracy theorists where in overdrive and were convinced the "board" did not want promotion due to any number of weird and wonderful reasons.

I think we could definitely do with another season without the £40-60 million pounds in revenue!

Lets bet honest the money goes to players and agents.

Surely our years in the rich division have taught us that ?

More money comes in, the top teams pay higher wages. At the bottom whoever is struggling come jan spend money on players wages and staying up bonuses.

The clubs do not get richer, the biggest debts are with the clubs with the biggest incomes.

First and formost let's get promoted, and then worry about the rest next season

Well we,re coming Ready or Not!! errrrrrrr I hope.. :db: :blum:

We?

We?

We

For anyone who subscribes to the notion we're not ready

What would it take for you to think we're ready?

And what would happen if we didn't go up that season, would we more or less prepared the season after?

The longer we spend in this division, the "weaker" we become in terms of money and personnel

We

indeed

Better than some shite in Premiership at the moment and look how well we played against Everton/Sunderland in the Cup. If we do go up keep Spearing and a couple shrewd decent signings from Dougie and we will be reet.

Correct 100%
