It’s mixed martial arts so it’s not all going to be stand up trading blows, there will be some grappling. For every Khabib there’s a Toby Ferguson who blocks punches with his face Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 (edited) Look at that snapshot... Absolutely wide open. Any boxer worth their salt would spark him out right there. And why don't they force the bloody mess to get cleaned up? Panto. They probably sneak in broken up disposable razors to nick themselves in the clinches. How anyone can prefer that garbage over the sweet science is a mystery. Edited October 31, 2021 by Youri McAnespie Quote

I couldn't give a toss how clean it is when what lies at the end of of the rainbow is a crock of turds. Besides which I've always been deeply suspicious of folk into Martial Arts - met lots of oddbods down the years into them, and known lots of oddbods who've got into them. Quote

I rewatched the Mike Tyson Buster Douglas fight this weekend. It's easy to forget what a monumental upset that was. What I didn't know was, at the time of the knockout 2 of the 3 judges had Tyson ahead, or level on points, which was as ludicrous as Don King and the WBC trying to overturn the final result. Quote

There is no one more corrupt in boxing than Don King. The man is a crook and a thief. Stole from Larry Homes, Tim Witherspoon, stole £20m off Tyson. Was friends with Jon Gotti, there’s a fight in the 90s and Don is sat with Jon Gotti and one of Jons men is badgering the judge and no one is doing anything. If a boxer wanted to fight one of Don Kings boxers you had to sign a deal with his company that if you won you would become one of Dons Boxers. Quote
Duck Egg Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Aye King is the worst of the lot but Suleiman, Arum, Trump (there's a surprise!) and all the various bodies were barely any better. The sport was crying out for an independent governing body but was too riddled with corruption. Quote
Rudy Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Ladies and Gentlemen tomorrow the best boxer on the planet Saul Canelo Alvarez is going to put on an absolute clinic (probably jinxed him😂) Canelo v Plant Quote

Rudy Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 If someone said Canelo was the greatest of all time you’d have a tough time arguing it Quote
Rudy Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Oh and he was punished for having Clenbuterol in his system. The amount was so minuscule there’s no way it would have enhanced performance and is consistent with the theory it was ingested via meat. WADA recognise Clenbuterol now and the amount they found he had in his system if they found that now he wouldn’t have been banned. 🐐👑 Quote

Mayweather greatest defensive boxer definitely. Canelo is the only one apart from Pacquiao in his prime who I genuinely believe could beat him. Canelo fought him too early, Manny too late Quote

He has bored me senseless with boxing stats since we were kids. Quote
