it always explains why and where the Ifilmlondon sponsorship money is now coming from.

Despite Macklin (and by extension Moore) being involved with these Irish lads, it doesn't explain why Moore would be targetted. Or by who.

Sounds like he's either been randomly chosen or they've gone for someone close to the Irish camp, without hitting one of the inner circle.

Pretty nuts ... but if you play with feathers you get your arse tickled, as they say.

Maybe he did help a few on the way. If he did I assume it will be very difficult for them to walk away.

Macklin is Irish, he's either gonna have family connections or they've 'adopted' him

But like you say, once you get involved, it's hard to get out

Kovalev V Hopkins in November, will Hopkins taste the first KO of his career?

You'd think so but Hopkins has made a career of surprising people and getting wins you wouldn't expect.

If he can turn it into his sort of fight and with the backing of a favourable ref like Steve Smoger then i could see him winning on points.

RW - have you heard how he's doing pal?

Yeah you've go to think Hopkins has seen something in Kovalev he thinks he can exploit.

Kovalev's heavy hands speak for themselves but if you can forget the power... he's very crude and basic, isn't he. I know lots of people think he's a subtle, nuanced fighter. I'm not sure.

Let's see what he manages to do against Hopkins...

Yes spoke to him a few times now, he was hit through his hip that fractured his thigh bone, they have had to leave the bullet in and the other went through his other leg just missing a main artery but causing nerve trauma, he should make a full recovery and hopefully be home in a week or so

Good news mate, hope it doesn't effect his job with sky etc

I see the Macklin fight has been cancelled now.

glad he's ok

RW are you related to Carol or have I imagined this?

Carol?? Not that I know of

Thank god my taxes pay for that

Other than Whitt, who'd shag it?

Do you think he has been battered around the ring?

Jamie Moore has now been discharged from Salford Royal

In other news, just watching Ringside. Kell Brook has a big title fight in America at weekend. I still can't warm to him for some reason.

I like Brook but I know what you mean, he lacks a bit of charisma. A broad sheffield accent with a lisp isn't a great combo. But I think he looked a very destructive puncher on the way through the domestic scene - not sure that's quite carried as he moves up in class.

Porter is quite fancied to beat him, largely based on beating the usually tough Malignaggi up.

Hard one to call and it's Brook's big chance. Time to deliver.

Sickening

I hope Brook wins because it would potentially set up a very interesting and big money fight with AK.

I think it's a tough ask though, whilst Porter appears to be very limited and one-dimensional he does seem to have genuine and destructive knock out power in every shot he throws.

I'm not sure Brook has faced anyone who will be as big a puncher or put him under constant pressure from the first bell. If he boxes to a plan and keeps him at range then you never know.

Porter is a pressure fighter but wouldn't say big puncher. Only 2 kos since start of 2012 suggest this.

Hope brook does win to setup the khan fight next year.

Is there any money in Kell Brook for AK? Genuine question.

Brook is over rated, he;s too easy to hit and will be found out, that being said even though porter is a hard hitter he's not that good himself, hoping Brook can weather the onslaught and win then get a fight with Khan who, IMO, would destroy him within 5 rounds
