BELL END !

I've never heard of there, is it near Nob End?

Fuck me, I know there's a good lot of Whites hailing from the two areas mentioned - but to be blinkered to the plastic gloryhunters also residing there is demented...

I call it number 25 or number 36 (or insert bus number here) syndrome - that having a nearby, single journey bus route direct to Manchester didn't help when forging 'identity', that physically going into Manchester from an early age gave the young a false affinity with the city (or it did in the case of many childhood friends associates from Great Lever, Farnworth/Kearsley, New Bury, Walkden/Worsley and Little Hulton).

The Scum were relatively shite when I was a kid. The out and out gloryhunters were all over the Wallpushers.

I'd hazard a guess that our Yoof support has shifted geographically since the move to The Reebok - on the odd occasions I've been a match bus wanker, I'm struck by how few in number the Yoof are, on the buses from the areas mentioned.

Yon mon tomskis normally on the right wave length. Inevitably someone I see at away matches who I think is a knob.

Sorry I may of read this wrong but am I the knob at away matches?

Surely the result yesterday means that Martinez is more qualified for the Manure job that Moyes? Worked wonders on a tight budget and has delivered silverware.

WIgan have won more silverware than Arsenal in the last 8 seasons.

Good job they went for Moyes, then

Arsenal 14/1 for a 4-0 on Tuesday.

Worth a few quid of anyone's money I reckon',

WIgan have won more silverware than Arsenal in the last 8 seasons.

And more importantly Wigan have won more silverware than Bolton in the last 50 years. This is May 1958 for Wiganers.Unbelievable.My thoughts have turned from jealously when Watson scored the WINNER to admiration of them.Whelan and Martinez have proved themselves to have a better cup team than anything Bolton have had to offer since the 1950s.Better than the White hot teams or the Okocha/Djorkaeff team that beat Villa in the semi final.Wigan didn't fall at the final hurdle or bottle it against Oldham, they produced on the biggest stage. They won the cup.Hats off to the WINNERS.

I will be happy with any result that does not include a Wigan win.

Out of interest, why is is more important that they've won more than Bolton in the last 50 years? - I don't see it as important at all

Serious question though, if they get relegated, will they still see it as a good season? - I reckon not, as like every other club in lower reaches of the PL (as in outside the top 6 or 7), staying up is the success that they really want year in year out

like it or not, theres 2 or 3 teams who can win the league

you can then rank cup winning, qualifying for europe, whatever, in any way you want

but getting relegated can only be seen as failure

regardless of what fans might choose, no mid/lower ranking prem team can put winning a cup over staying in the league

if by some miracle they stay up, they've had a great season...a fcuking great season

one i can only dream of us having

if they don't, they've had a bad one and they'll be #LOSERS

That's pretty much the way I see it, a cup win is good for the fans, but that's about it. If they got relegated, then I'm sure many of those fans, given the choice, would happily swap the cup win in favour of remaining in the PL

  • Author

now then, i'm not sure about that

i reckon lots of fans would swap

but, when the board of directors make their plans with the manager, i cannot believe that winning a cup takes precedence over staying in the league

which says to me that martinez has failed and he isn't a #WINNER

doubt their fans will swap the FACup win with staying in the Prem

(doubt i would if the boot was on the other foot) surely as a fan football is about glory not aiming for 17th in the Prem.

Though the most gritted of teeth i envy what them bastards achieved on Saturday evening.

Personally speaking I would take relegation for an FA Cup win all day long.

You can look at it another way...

When you get relegated would you like to do it having won the cup or not.

Teams outside the top few all get relegated the promoted, it's just a matter of time.

I for one am jealous as fuck and still will be when their relegation is confirmed.

That's spot on imo. Say what you want about them, they've won the trophy I want Bolton to win.

That's not a negative about us. I still believe our day will come. Who knows when?

I think after all the debating gone on in recent weeks, I think its time to admit (reluctantly) that Wigan are a proper rival these days?

I really don't care about wigan

As long as they go down

The fans that would happily win a cup and go down are the fans that won't be there when you go down. QED.

Fair play to them, but as Casino say's, I wouldn't swap watching Bolton in Europe in Burgas, Madrid, Guimmares ,Belgrade Lisbon and Munich for an FA cup victory.

But they get to play in Europe next season and possibly visit some of them places anyway PLUS have a trophy win to look back on that no one can take away from them.I also notice a lot of people saying theyd rather have the euro jollies than and an FA cup win (i went to 3 of them myself) are also the same people who constantly talk about their big ale sessions at games. Sometimes i wonder if some people are purely going to the match to get leathered. Give me a trophy any day of the week.

I didnt imagine a 3-2 home defeat to Swansea last week did I?

And in other news...

Bears shit in the woods, the Pope is a Catholic and Jimmy Savile was a nonce.

Little bit of me died on Sat.

Not having them winning a cup and us not in my lifetime.

Trying to console myself by thinking a team can luck it's way into winning a cup (but why couldn't it have been us  ).

Will feel a bit better if they finally flush tomorrow (won't believe it til it happens though)

i used to be a stay in the PL than win the cup type

but after 1 season back in this league, the ones where we stumbled along under megson/coyle don't really give much in terms of great days, so give me a cup win any day

been relegated before, come back up before, never won a cup in my lifetime

I'd have loved to have put one past 10 men city in the last minute to win a cup

Not many Citeh colours out and about in Manc today. JSL.
