June 14, 201313 yr What a strange appointment by Whelan. After the love affair him and the fans had with Martinez, this appointment has alienated a lot of Wigginers. Great news for us because it is a Megson-type appointment, the atmosphere at their match-days will be toxic and I can't see them going anywhere next season. Is he a WINNER though?

Yeah, I reckon they'll be up and running well, spurred on by Coyle's arm round the shoulder and team building. Shagged by Christmas, drift for second half of season. This season's Boro. June 14, 201313 yr I hope your right, but has a good track record of getting off to a flyer. As do a lot of managers, but Coyle's teams seem to dip over the course of a season, and like I say they will be playing a lot more games than the rest of the league.

He signed Wilshere and Sturridge on loan when they could have gone elsewhere.
