Rembrandt Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Has any manager left us and been a big reasonable adequate success elsewhere ? I can only think of BSA, and I've been around forever. Quote

Brilliant. Quote

Arrested development Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Coyle will end up with Mears at right back and Benik Afobe up top on a season loan. Quote

smithills_gent Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Has any manager left us and been a big reasonable adequate success elsewhere ? I can only think of BSA, and I've been around forever. Ian Greaves at Mansfield Quote
DomRepWanderer Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) Ian Greaves at Mansfield Aye he created some of the best seasons witnessed by BWFC in many a year, signed Frankie Worthy, had us on edge for a season or two, then gave us what we craved, on that fantastic Friday night in Blackburn, ok he got sacked rightly or wrongly, but how the fuck did he do better at Mansfield? you utter bellend. SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I am just remembering some of the shitbags we got on loan, Dedryck Boyata, Ryo Miachi, Benik Afobe. I was genuinely expecting more from Miyachi. He looked rapid before he came to Bolton. Quote

Let me educate you as you are obviously a moron.Ian Greaves is considered a legend at Mansfield. You might not like that but he is a bigger legend at Mansfield than at Bolton where Gartside and the manager (Megson) couldn't be arsed turning up at Christ Church in Heaton for his funeral. (Sam Allardyce and Alex Ferguson gave up their time to attend). He got Mansfield promoted from the 4th Division, kept them up for the rest of his time there and won them a trophy at Wembley. He actually got Mansfield a better team together than Bolton had at the time. Ratwhite Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Can't be arsed trawling through this lot, so if already said I apologise.. But, nailed on first or second game of season v pie heads. Nailed on they do double over us and our Owen will be ever so magnanimous in victory. As you were. Quote
Farrelli Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I think Coyle will do alright at Wigan, he has a good record in his first year at a new club. He will need a good start to keep the fans on side though. He had lost the players here after relegation but I think he has a good squad there for championship level. Providing he doesn't try a radical defensive re-organisation Wigan will be up there. Quote
Didledee Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Bolton will be getting a mention throughout the Community Shield. Quote
Eddie Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) Wigan conceded 73 goals in 38 games last season... If coyle's the man to turn that round then I'm the man to sort our economy out I predict a good 1st 5 games then a poor run of form which sees the 20 fans in the stadium turn on him and DW will sack him around Feb/March when they're sitting around 16th. Anyone that thinks Coyle was unlucky, had a bad spell, just a blip or any other of that shit whilst he was at us is deluded. He's a terrible manager and we've found out just to what extent he is since he's left. Good luck to Wigan with him in charge, they'll need it Edited June 15, 2013 by Eddie Quote
Didledee Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) Anyone that thinks Coyle was unlucky The injuries we had under him were very unlucky, may still be manager of us if Lee and Holden didn't get maimed. Edited June 15, 2013 by Didledee Quote
Eddie Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The injuries we had under him were very unlucky, may still be manager of us if Lee and Holden didn't get maimed. Squads get injuries, good managers deal with it, he was clueless as to what to do. His method of dealing with losing Holden... Drop our 2nd best centre mid in Muamba. If there is a silver lining to those injuries it's that we have now got rid of him and got a manager who is infinitely more clued up and intelligent and someone who is actively working to build our club back up and not just for the short term. If it meant getting relegated to get rid of Coyle and get Freedman in then I'm glad it happened Quote
Carlos Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The injuries we had under him were very unlucky, may still be manager of us if Lee and Holden didn't get maimed. Holden would have been back if they sent him to a proper doctor. That's pretty much fact. You make your own luck. Don't get me started on Lee's injury. Quote
Whites man Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The injuries we had under him were very unlucky, may still be manager of us if Lee and Holden didn't get maimed. The initial injuries were unlucky, players returning from injury too early wasn't. Quote
Didledee Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) Summat dodgy happened to Holden, came back after a long lay-off v Villa in't Cup, then out for ages again and playing a friendly v Newport was pointless. We had some very good times with Coyle, I think losing Lee and Holden along with not replacing Sturridge and Elmander were the big reasons we went down, not saying we'd not have been in a relegation scrap, but I think with one or two of these players, we'd have got at least 1 more point and stayed up. I know it's all hypothetical, even without Lee and Holden, there were moments in the season what could have changed our future, like if Bogdan didn't give a pen away v Stoke, we'd have won and stayed up and Coyle would have not had the Championship era which made him look an absolute shocking manager. The way I see it though Dids, even if we did just get one more point and stay up, all it would have done is paper over the cracks. We all know now that behind the scenes we were a shambles and sooner or later (most probably sooner) we would have gone down with far more damage done by the clown Quote
