Aye, get well soon Roy.

Greavo came home today....still very weak...he will be back in dock in about 6 weeks to have a few spare parts fitted.

He was one Bolton player who could get away with sporting a beard, get well soon Roy.

Proper legend can remember greavo scoring i think the winning goal at southampton he jumped on the wall in front of all the wanderers fans leading the chanting great memories

Get well soon greavo

Speedy recovery Greavo , Mate.

Last minute winner against Tottenham in the Championship season 77/78 shown on Match of the Day.

Remember that match. Was stood right behind the goal.

On the Embankment.

Had a few scoops on the way home, asked me mum to wake me up when MOTD came on.

,next day she said she couldn't wake me.

To this day I have never seen the goal.

He smashed it in from all of 6 yards.

Ground went effin mental.

I grew up as a teenager on the Burnden Terrace and I'd doubt there was a Wanderers' player that was. more committed to the cause than Roy... Good luck Roy you're a fighter so stay true

If it was on MOTD surely the video is somewhere out there?

There's loads of Spurs footage from the 1977/78 season on YouTube. It's strange seeing them playing the likes of Mansfield, Bristol Rovers and Orient in league games. We played them four times that season. The attendance for the league game at White Hart Lane was over 50,000.

Here's a couple of Roy's against Oldham to keep you going.

Really enjoyed that video

I wasn't born in 76 but some interesting aspects:

Peter Thompson'a Cruyff-esque turn for the first goal came out of nowhere; great feet. Interesting to see he played over 100 times for us and very surprisingly for what looks like a good attacking wide man only scored 2 goals for us?!

The penalties; keepers would save those these days....

I remember the Bristol Rovers game as they won 9-0 & it was on MOTD. Two players scored hat tricks, one unbelievably being Ian Moores.

That the one Peter Taylor scored five?

Hope Greavsie gets well soon. One who deserves the 'legend' status for us.

I was one of them.

Me too Boby. Greavo at his best.

They used to say that he was such a tough bastard that if he ever went down and didn't get straight back up, he was seriously hurt.

He'll beat this for that reason.

Come on Greavo.

Was it not Moores and colin lee who scored the 9.

Colin Lee scored four. Ian Moores scored three. Peter Taylor and Glenn Hoddle scored one each.

Spurs went up on goal difference that season.

Thompson was a top class winger when he came to Bolton his knees had gone but such was his ability he was still brilliant for us for a couple of years a real Rolls Royce of a player.
