Every football match or public event I've worked in the last year I've had some moron tell me that I killed Liverpool fans.  The fact I'm 28 years old and work for GMP not SYP doesn't appear to matter

Well yeah, it can. There was no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late. This means a couple of things really.   - The fans didn't conspire to arrive late. Whoopy do. They didn't conspire to

An independent report by a load of Scousers. Believable.

There was talk this week of trying to locate notepads from officers that changed their statements to acquire accurate info. There's still no definative account IMO.

Absolutely.

The shambles with the ambulances queueing up outside the ground when many lives could have been saved if they had had a sensibly conducted operation.

The sight which lives forever of young scousers ripping up advertising hoarding to create makeshift stretchers, while police stood around in utter confusion, receceiving no leadership.

The police change in senior responsibilities took away the man with all the relevant experience and so someone with 3 weeks in position had the semi as his first major football operation. A month's delay in implementing the change may well have avoided the whole incident.

But if you wish to believe otherwise that is your privilege.

Think you've misunderstood my reply.

The question was about people telling lies not about what people did or didn't do on the day.

The Independent Report looked at all the evidence available, including the Interim Report which was compiled by Lord Justice Taylor. He arrived at exactly the same conclusion. The only difference was that he arrived at this conclusion when football supporters were viewed as the enemy and the police were generally believed. His view wasn't a popular one at the time and as far as i'm aware, he isn't a scouser. The people who are disputing the official verdict are starting to sound as if their views are based mainly on the fabrications of SYP, rather than any real evidence.

Real life experience sonny - fuck all to do with the SYP. Many of us on here don't have our head in the sand. Seen it done it and know it happens - especially where the scousers are involved (experienced it personally in the Anfield Road end).

A simple 'yes' or 'no'. Do you believe that all Liverpool supporters are completely blame free for what happened? This is all I want to know.

If you answer 'yes', I will not be bothering you any further on this subject as you are clearly brainwashed or blessed with incredible naivete.

Actually I was answering Smiffs, which is why I quoted him.

And yes, it's very telling that the Interim Taylor Report blamed Police failure as the main cause.

This was certainly against expectation at the time, and the Police mounted a long process to undemine the facts.

The failings of the Ambulance service were not so apparent at the time, although the fact that very few ambulances entered the stadium was certainly known.

LJ Taylor died in 1997, or thereabouts.

COYW, I haven't posted on here as I reckon you are on a wind up.

If you're not, you are the very reason there is less sympathy for the murderers than there possibly should be.

What an absolute load of bollocks.

You really think that those who don't agree with you don't sympathise with the loss to some families? You're as bad as Come On You Wigan.

Simply making the point that the eternal vigil gang need to look closer to home for a fair portion of blame IMO. I have yet to hear you or the other dick agree that LFC supporters are partly to blame.

think your on the wrong forum if you get offended easily part and parcel of being a football fan

Try net mums,

Calling people dicks cos you don't agree with them is one way of trying to make your point I suppose.

I only ever got involved in this thread to challenge those (thankfully relatively few) who seem to think it reasonable to refer to Scousers generally and these people in particular who'd experienced an unimaginable tragedy as 'murderers' and 'vermin' who somehow deserved what happened to them. And who are only after the compo anyway and, while we're at it, why can't they stop bleating and 'move on' cos it's all so fucking boring now etc.

Yes, those without tickets who blagged their way in clearly didn't help the situation...but as I've said several times, ticketless fans arriving at games had happened many times before (and since) and, if the policing operation hadn't been such a monumental shambles that day, could and should have been dealt with. As someone else said, these same teams had played at the same venue the year before without a problem.

You say it's too much of a coincidence that Liverpool fans were involved in two of the worst footballiing disasters ie that there's something uniquely bad about their fans. That's your opinion but I don't agree. There were much bigger hooligan firms through the 70s and 80s - they were just lucky that they didn't pick their fights at stadiums as crappy as Heysel. In fact, Leeds fans were responsible for the death of a fan at Birmingham when a wall collapsed. One of our own fans stabbed another fan to death - does that make all Wanderers fans murderers? Yes, in the eyes of some Blackpool fans - but they're just as wrong as the people on here tarring all Scousers with the same brush.

Nobody is having a laugh at that. People are having a laugh at how long it has dragged on for and how little blame is being placed on the fans. Simples.

I think CBeebies might be more for you than reading this forum mate.

Lots of people are sick to the back teeth of proxy-grief and outrage/offence on the behalf of others, this isn't confined to Hillsborough and the 'Justice' campaign.

One of the downsides of the internet age is it's enabled further development of a herd mentality that's existed since time immemorial. When a polarising subject comes up, or one that's not clearly definable into right or wrong, black or white - you can guarantee there will be an army of morons to shout you down for any opinion straying from the orthodoxy...

It's fucking bollocks, the 'wisdom' of the crowd is usually wrong, and things in real life can't be so easily separated into 'goodies' and 'baddies' once you've reached a mental age of someone older than 13.

1) Apart from the odd comment you mention, I have not witnessed anyone in this thread or previous ones who is unsympathetic to families coping with tragic losses. This is just a card you are trying to play to win your argument. Won't wash with me I am afraid.

2) You still avoid the issue. Do you accept that some Liverpool fans contributed to the disaster? You are shit scared of saying it aren't you? You know some were culpable but it doesn't fit your conventional wisdom attitude of all blame laid at the feet of the authorities and none at the feet of the pissed up latecomers who intended all day to jib in. "Clearly didn't help the situation" is a weak as piss cop out.

I think CBeebies might be more for you than reading this forum mate.

That's rich coming from someone who thinks that the entire basis of the British legal system is 'utter bollocks' because no evidence should actually be required to convict someone.

So, is it only the 96 families that will allowed to claim for Compo ??????

Thinking of putting a claim in?

Damn right, im sure I had a distant Uncle that hurt his leg, that then couldn't work, that affected one of his kids, that at some point I lent some cash too!
