exiledwhite2 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Sorry, I shouldn't expect people at the centre of multi-million pound events to behave with basic professionalism. Well, you shouldn't read too much into what I think is silly tittle tattle. I bet a penny to a pound of shit that he also liked 'Froch to win in 3' - 'Groves to win in 8'. But Groves' camp won't put that out there will they? In fact the whole thing is probably utter bollocks anyway Quote
Bobcat Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I liked froch before the fight...my opinion of him has since changed... It was obvious that groves despite coming across as arrogant had him well worked out... Froch just wasn't at the races... Groves hurt him on a number of occasions...to say that froch was coming stronger is true...and if groves had been knocked out / stopped when it was obvious he couldn't continue any more then fair play...but it was the manner of the stoppage ...the first time froch had even remotely troubled him was the mystery... And the score cards were horrendous...in fact shocking... But what got me the most was froch's interview post fight he mugged himself off and did himself serious harm in my opinion... Whereas groves was genuine...not remotely smug arrogant and was genuinely gutted.... I can't see a rematch myself...I think froch knows he met his match and got away with one. Quote

My view is Froch genuinely underestimated Groves, his after match comments were a shocked knee jerk reaction to his poor performance and lucky win, I think there will be a rematch and I think Froch wont make the same mistake no doubt many of the pro froch supporters will now jump ship and back groves for the rematch, that'll do for me because I'll fill my boots backing froch. Cheese Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Did any of you see this interview a few weeks ago, during which Froch appeared to be on the verge of tears? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXQGZF5PWf8&feature=youtu.be&t=33m30s (Skip to 33:30 if my link doesn't work properly) Edited November 25, 2013 by Cheese Quote
Sy86 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 It was Howard Foster who let Froch pummell Bute for 3/4 Rounds. Gave him a standing count if I remember rightly. Bute was looking like Apollo against Drago in there. But then it was a matchroom show and Froch the underdog. Quote
Carlos Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 So, in summary, the title was accurate and it was indeed pissfroth. Quote

Garrp Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 The Groves v DeGale fight was on again last night Foster was ref in that he was a cunt then too DeGale should have had points deducted Quote
Sy86 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Earl Brown was in charge against Bute. Foster was one of the scoring judges. Stand corrected on the ref. To compare the beating Froch gave Bute to the Groves stoppage are at opposite ends if the scale. Quote
SalfordOriginal Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 It was Frochs comments right out of the Phil Garside "those that know" book of winning friends that got my back up most As for the stoppage I can understand why the ref stepped in although didn't / don't agree with it. In my opinion it stopped us having the same result but clearer without the need for a rematch (Groves stopped) As for the fight itself I thought it was one of the better match ups and certainly was entertaining Quote
anewman Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Brilliant fight, i wanted Groves to win but he was robbed big time, what a disgrace, the Morris Dancers was in uproar Were they ringing their bells at a rapid rate? Quote
gonzo Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 It was Frochs comments right out of the Phil Garside "those that know" book of winning friends that got my back up most That's exactly it. People have commented on here and elsewhere saying they don't understand the back lash towards Froch etc. It's the fact that he didn't show groves any respect whatsoever either pre fight and more importantly afterwards. Trying to tell the boxing public something happened that didn't. Quote
maaarsh Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Carl has now decided he doesn't need to fight Groves again, and Groves has blown his chance. Delusional cunt. Quote
maaarsh Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 "I’ve just taken on Britain’s best in my weight division and defended my titles successfully in emphatic style and I’m very, very happy and proud of what I’ve done." I seriously hope this is a spoof interview. Quote
